See http://www.pl8s.co.uk/page3.html
or http://www.tippersvintageplates.co.uk/
or http://www.premierplates.co.uk/
or look for ads in the classic car magazines.
Black plates are only legal in the UK on cars built before 1st January 1973.
I have occasionally seen black plates on newer cars, but that's just asking for trouble if a policeman sees it on a day when he's a bit bored or angry.
Also they look daft on a newer car, but cool on an E-Type, MGA, Sunbeam Alpine, etc.
Reflective plates look out-of-place on pre-1962 cars (those without year identifiers).

Depends where you are but a lot of shops still do them but be careful as they are illegal in cars after a certain year, 1985 i think. As the speed cameras cannot see them properly
