Why do people when answering question make assumptions on the writers point of view and attack that person? I asked a question about religion and stated very clearly that I got this question from a website and was interested in what people thought. People assumed it was my point of view and started attacking me showed they obviously didn't read the whole thing. And, if a question isn't relevant to your life anyway why are you answering anyway?

Same thing happened to me. I think you've partially answered your own question when you say they haven't read the whole thing. Also I think some people have bees in their bonnets about certain subjects and assume motivations on the part of the asker that aren't there. For the most part I ask questions about things that interest me, although I will admit that sometimes I like to be deliberately provocative.

I think a lot of people aren't interested in other peoples questions, just thier own answers, so they don't even bother to read the question, they just sound off with whatever rant they like. Bit like real life really.

i've had the same thing happen to me...I think it says quite a bit about the walls and boxes that people build up and put within their minds...or maybe it is that everyone is used to people lying and blaming things on others...either way, there are simply too many ego maniacs to get a straight, open-minded view in a place like this.

People are more uninhibited on the internet so they're quick to "speak" their mind. They don't have to face the person they're answering nor do they have to reveal their own identity. So right now, everyone on Yahoo Answers is quite the brave one.
