*I have already gathered a lot of small twigs, twine, and branches....
I have the supplies, but the question is:
When should I start weaving the nest for my baby???

Begin nesting IMMEDIATELY! You also need to start collecting and eating worms and bugs! Then you'll be all ready to regurgitate them into your young 'un throats! Expect several babies, depending on your species. Oh, and the correct term is chicks or baby birds.
It is obvious you are a bird; thus the twig and sticks reference other people obviously didn't read before composing their answers.
On the off chance that you are a human female. Everybody doesn't nest. It is an old wives tale. When us humans reach the end of gestation we begin to get nervous about things being ready for the baby coming home so we do a lot of cleaning, buying baby clothes, etc., and people call that nesting.

It will just come to you so naturally you won't even realize you're nesting while you're doing it. Mine happened a few weeks before I gave birth - it was like all of a sudden I could not sit down and be lazy, I just felt that seeing my unfinished list of things to do would drive me crazy, so I got up and bustled around the house - mostly around the nursery. I was cleaning, disinfecting, folding and refolding baby clothes, checking our hospital bag for the hundredth time to make sure everything was ready. It was pretty funny. I didn't even know I was doing the "nesting", I just did it. It was only after I was done and pooped out from all the work that I realized that that was exactly what I was doing. It's a funny thing, but it does happen.

So goodluck to you and may your "nest" be as beautiful as your baby!!! * Hey, you forgot that extra twig - go get it before your baby bird comes! LOL!*

You should start now so you can lay in the nest and make sure it's comfy for your baby. If your not serious about the sticks and twine then start when you feel you want to. It will be an urge you'll know it when it comes. Suddenly you will be puttzing with everything and have to get it done. Luckily with my last one I started early cuz he was early. Your body tells you, sounds crazy but it;s true

Ok with my first baby I had set everything up early but didn't really pay much attention to it. Twoards my 7th-8th month I got into the crazy cleaning and always strightening and rearranging the baby things..with this pregnancy I find myself doing that already..not with baby things because I'm only 12 weeks pregnant but I'm always cleaning the house and making sure things are perfect..more so then usual. I donno..I feel like it's too early to be doing it but things that are not in place or even the slightest bit dirty get me going...all of a sudden it'll hit you and it'll be all you can think about! Best of luck!

Hopefully your husband/boyfriend is already doing this, at least in the sense of getting the nursery ready. We found it was best to do it early on, when we had the time and energy, rather than waiting until later when we had less energy and we felt the usual pressure of getting everything done at once. Also, if you have to order any furniture, you should do that at least four months in advance. Sometimes it can take 2-3 months to get in, and you want to be sure it is what you ordered.

Most start nesting in their last trimester and it is something that just happens. So if you start cleaning excesively, Like everything just can't get clean enough. You start splerging on buying stuff for the baby wether you need it or not, and if you also do excessive cooking, that is nesting hun.

It will just happen. One day you'll wake up and nest all day - and you won't know where u go the energy from!

As long as your ready to a level that if you had the baby home 2moro you'd cope then don't panic

This urge to nest is usually towards the end of your pregnancy, like the 8th month.

are you serious?...get the nursery ready at about 8 months in case of preterm delivery so that when you come home with a premie your husband wont have to hold the baby while you get the nursery done.

Don't worry, it'll hit you one day like a ton of bricks. You'll feel like nothing is clean enough and you'll be in prime-time nesting time. **Remember that you are pregnant and shouldn't be around a lot of chemicals. **
