what do you consider old? Personally my favorite punk bands were velvet underground, and sixousie and the banshees. Then again your probably too young and too inexperienced with music to realize that the music now that is produced under the title of punk/ alternative is geared towards the desires of teenagers as a way of glorifying fringe pop music, and making kids think they are so hard core.
By the way GREEN DAY SUCKS.

those bands everyone else mentioned
ARE NOT punk (except Rise Against)
and old skool punk is the best kind ever
so u must be a little girl who still watches
MTV to get her fill of what she thinks is "punk"
there are no more good punk bands except 4
the yeah yeah yeahs.. broken bones.. choking victim
leftover crack.. and death march
other than that the only punk bands
that are truly great are the ramones
the clash dead kennedys and others
that are too many to name
so i suggest u get educated on the definition
of "punk"....and plz not mtv's definition

Velvet Underground is kickass. The Clash... The Sex Pistols...
If you MUST have recent- The Adicts. Not recent persay, as they started in the seventies, but they're still around, and they're more punk than any of the other recent bands mentioned (ugh- Good Charlotte? Green Day? Hell NO)
