People say there is more to do however trust me, from a country boy that now lives in Dallas city limits, the more stuff you have to do, the more bored you become. For about a year or two it will be great and then you will want to go home again. The city life gets old real quick unless you were born and raised that way. It is true what they say... you can take the boy out of the trailer but you can't take the trailer out of the boy, LOL. Listen to Randy Travis... "Better class of Losers" so true!!!

I live out in the boonies in a small town of about 4600. I lived for a brief time out in the Bay area of San Francisco...too much of a culture shock. I would not want to live in the cities if I didn't have too. I have a friend that still lives out there and they say they could never live in a small town like I do. I guess we are more accustom to the environment we grow up in. Some people can make the change, but not me.
Small towns do have their own problems, but it seem so more overwhelming in the cities. I will stay where I am...its home.

I lived on a farm till i was 22 and have now lived in town for 2 years! it ain't as noisy as people say, i just have to have thick curtains because of the street lights and you have to put up with inconsiderate neighbours parking where ever they fancy! I moved to very rural FRANCE from a city in UK. i wouldn't swap my lifestyle for all the tea in china.....I wake to the birds singing...I have no neighbours....I LIVE ON TOP OF A HILL WITH BEAUTIFUL VIEWS... there are no traffic jams.....no problems parking and no charges for parking ...no traffic lights except when I drive into town and then there are very few. The pace of life is slower, no stress....everyone is friendly and always find the time to speak wether they know you or not...as this is an agricultural area all the meat and fruit and vegetables are very fresh and organic.....there is pracicaly zero crime .....people never feel the need to lock their homes or their cars.....the younger generation are polite and have great respect for their elders....family values still matter here.....the cost of living is considerably cheaper and the HEALTH SERVICE... is amongst the best in the world with no waiting lists. If you need treatment in hospital then you are admitted immediatly. Why would I want to go back to city life?????

I used to live in a remote area of British Columbia and I really loved it. Then I moved to the country outside of Toronto, Ontario. While I am still technically in the country, its not the same, and I preferred the sticks far more! I hate my neighbours here..where I used to live, there were no neighbours. I have the biggest @ssholes next door here...yuck! I miss BC. But...on the other hand, since living 1-1/2 hours outside of a huge city, I get to see concerts I never would have had the chance to see living out in the boonies (Paul McCartney, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, etc.) So, there are pros and cons to every place, but I could NEVER again live in a city (I grew up in Vancouver, BC), and living in a crappy sub-division...no way, not ever! I love the privacy of being in the country.

I live in the middle of East Bum F*ck and I think is sucks. The nearest store is 45 minutes away if you drive at 65 MPH. It is quiet at night but I would rather be in a town (not a big city) because there is more to do and you don't need to travel forever to get someplace. :)

The good thing about being in the city is that there's always a lot to do-you'll never really be bored. There's stores and great places to eat-just so much to do. But the bad side is that it's so noisy and you can't see the stars too well at night.

I lived in the country when I was young. I hated it. It was miles from anyone or anywhere. I like the countryside now, for a visit but I prefer to live in the city. I love the people and the shops, the nightlife, retaurants, theatre etc. Its vibrant and alive. Its easy and cheap to get around too.
