Today I just got my third period this month. At first I thought i got it twice because I had just switched my birth control, but a third time is ridiculous, and I get the most painful periods so I've been a very unhappy girl this month. I made an emergency appointment with my doctor for tomorrow, I was just wondering if anyone else had suffered with multiple periods, and what the doctor said it was caused by. I also have a history of endometriosis in my family, and that's making me a little nervous.

I dont want wikipedia links or anything, I would greatly appreciate any personal experiences. thanks.

I have multiple periods and also very irregular periods. I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome a few years ago. Have your doc check for endometriosis, that's serious. There isn't a definitive test for PCOS, it's mainly diagnosed via symptoms, so that might be something you want to ask about. Some symptoms are weight gain, inability to lose weight, insulin resistance and sometimes thyroid disease. Good luck...I can definitely identify with you!

It could be serious. My aunt had painful, heavy periods for years before a doctor finally decided she had to have a hysterectomy. But she was in her 40's and did not have endometriosis but scar tissue built up from 3 children.

I had a friend who had this same problem..she would have periods several times a month so bad that she would bleed through a pad and tampon and the blood would be going down her leg..she went to the doctor and was told that she was anemic....after she got put on the birthcontrol shot her periods completely stopped and she was okay.

Having the same problem right now. My doctor has changed my BC 3 times since April. I just got a prescription for Yasmin so i hope this will do the trick.

You may want to check with your doctor, as I had the same problem before. I have endometriosis -- it could be the pill switch or something with your hormones. Good luck with your appointment.

i could bypass lower back to the medical doctors. Its no longer undesirable or common. sometimes whilst we start up birthcontrol, we would spot purely somewhat. It feels like extra suitable than recognizing although. perchance you desire a much better dosage. or perchance you purely could desire to attempt a distinctive birthcontrol. you would be O.ok. in basic terms shop on with up with the well-known practitioner.
