Okay I am sure everyone will say its not that bad and it goes away. But I thought it was absolutely horrible! Even the thought of it now makes me hurt! Sometimes I dont even know how I did it. The pain did go away eventually. I have had it in for three years now and I want to keep it in as long as possible because I figure I didnt go through all of that pain for nothing! Its up to you weather it is worth it or not. It does hurt but its not like a tattoo if you end up not wanting it all you have to do is take it out.

The tongue is one of the most sensitive organs in the human body. So, it is going to hurt when you have it pierced. You also need to consider some side effects associated with tongue piercing. Plan on several weeks for the pierce to stop throbbing and for you to adapt your speech patterns so they aren't garbled. You might actually lose some of your ability to taste as the piercing directly damages that part of the tongue. Tongue piercing can also lead to erosion and direct damage of the enamel of your teeth, so long term use may lead to cavities and even loss of teeth. Because the mouth is used to eat, your piercing will make you more prone to infections such as endocarditis, cellulitis and pneumonia. But go for it. My hubby is an Infectious Disease doctor and I'm wanting a new car...piercing infections make lots of money for him.

Do it! Its way better than a tattoo (or more tattoos) once you are 'done' with it you can take it out. Don't hurt much, you'll be fine
