No, it shouldn't be mandatory. IF there are people out there that refuse to decide for their benefit, then I think all should let them be. Others can make the decisions for them. They also should have no right to protest against the government, because they had their choice.
And... just to add... if a person votes for a party member that decides to create a world war or something of that matter, they should be forced into the army, no matter their physical stability.

I don't think it should be mandatory. You'd get a bunch of people who'd vote randomly without seriously looking at questions. Voting is used to find out what people want.

But I do think it'd be a good idea to have incentives for people to vote. It might get some people looking at the issues and making informed decisions.

No, because that would take away our freedom. e.g. The "right" to vote. If you're thinking about the number of people voting declining, the government should do more to motivate people to want to vote. Forcing them isn't the best way. Some solutions would be getting people excited about voting and maybe making voting day a holiday.

Heavens no! The last thing we need is a bunch of idiots that don't know anything in the voting booth just because it's the law. If anything, we need fewer people voting. Only people that know how the government works, and knows facts about current issues should be allowed to vote.

No. This is America and voting is a right that doesn't necessarily have to be exercised. Now if you want a strong democracy and want to keep it it would be intelligent to do your homework and go out and vote on election day.

No, but we should automatically register people to vote and give them the day off to vote in every other November.

Of course not. Do you want us to behave like the old Soviet Union, where the approved candidates got more than 99% of the vote?

Of course, I feel it is everyone's duty to vote. If you don't, certainly don't complain about the results!

No way. I would rather someone not vote than go in there and vote blindly without weighing the issues.

An uninformed voter is worse than someone who doesn't vote!

No it shouldn't! Why should someone's forced and uneducated vote cancel out my well thought well educated vote? What should be forced is education on all sides of issues and how certain people stand on these issues.
