Should my wife and I go to San Francisco or San Diego in April? I defnitely want good surf and she wants good attractions...

More/better attractions in SF, better surf in SD. Tiebreaker may be the weather, SF is normally freezing in April (and most of the year), SD would be way warmer.

I don't know much about San Diego, but as far as SF goes, make sure you know what you want to do first before going there. San Francisco can be very fun, as long as you know the right areas.

There's so much to do in both. I liked San Fran better, got to ride the trolley, tour alcatraz island, go to a wax museum and a torture chamber. A lot more movie theatres, you can ride the AC Transit and BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) to just about anywhere in the Bay Area. Both are great places to go if you want the good surf. Try going for about a week, and split it in half. Go to San Diego for 3 days, and go to San Fran for 4 days. I think that's a better deal, and both of you will have all the fun you're looking for.
