If quitters never win, and winners never quit, who came up with, "Quit while you're ahead"?

This is just one of those thought provoking question, I do not seriously want to know who came up with this. Just something to think about and get a response to, that's all.

That phrase doesn't say you're going to win, only that you're not going to lose so bad.

It is all my fault. I was the one who came up with all those sayings just to be smart. I didn't mean to create so much confusions.

Same person who came up with "a picture is worth a1000 words." But don't they say actions speak louder than words? But if I promised you something, wouldn't you say you "have my word" ..... I don't know. Word is bond.
