I lived on Vancouver Island for 12 years and not only do people use RV's to camp but a lot of people live in them full time. yes people on the west coast genaerally do a lot of camping. RV's are not the best for wilderness camping however because you'll be travelling a lot of logging trails etc. and the roads can be pretty bad and sometimes impassable if you meet a huge logging truck on the road. You're better off to use a four wheel drive with a truck camper on it or camp with a tent. There are grizzly bears on the mainland but not on Vancouver Island, however there are tons of black bear and cougars at both places. I have done tons of wilderness camping out there and have actually had run in's with both cougars and black bears. You have to take precausions in the wilderness. Do not store your food where you sleep or your vehicle, ( hang it in a tree or store it away from your campsite upwind ) burn and then bury scap food and burn any cans that contained food. There are very few bear and cougar attacks but they do happen, usually because they have been surprised or can smell food. Keep a radio going at night and a small fire going and if your hiking make noise. Keep some firecrackers in your tent to make noise if an animal comes into your site. ( it saved my butt a couple of times) There are very strict gun regulations in Canada as to carrying them and where you can shoot them. People do not generally carry guns unless they are hunting. You can pick up information on what to do if you encounter bear or cougars at any tourist bureau in BC or on their websites. Knowing what to do and using common sense will assure a safe camping trip.

wow is that a serious question!!??

I'm not really into RVing, but I do camp a lot. Lots of people do RV, however it is pretty expensive to rent a RV, most people would just buy one.
As for bear attacks on tourists, there are maybe at most 5 each decade for the entire country! No people don't carry guns!! Most people in Canada have never even seen a gun, much less own one. Mountain Lions are shy, you will probably never see one. It is very rare that they attack, however when they do it is usually small children not adults. With bears the you can reduce the chance of having problems if you lock up your food in the car, or RV, don't leave garbage around. Bears don't want to eat people, but they are attracted by food left out. If you are out in the forest, just make sure that you make noise- animals will avoid you.

The indisputable fact that we're residing and respiring and ready to do most of these matters. The indisputable fact that we don't seem to be rocks and a few divine accident made use who we're alternatively of a few inorganic atom. The truth we will supply matters valued at. We can categorise. Its all lovely, the sight, the sound, the think, the emotion, the style. Even discomfort. We can think that no longer many different matters can. Pain could also be painful, however we will think it simply as we will think completely satisfied. Its potent rather that out of all of this we will do those matters. Although it kind of feels to suck usually its nonetheless exotic. random truth: in case you shoot a rabbit, it doesnt recognise why it feels discomfort, it does not sign in that there's a proof, it simply is aware of it feels discomfort and as a response will run away, even though its loss of life. Shoot a human (even though they didn't recognise what a gun was once) it could fully grasp its whatever introduced, have a few variety or talents of what to do etc. I dont suppose this was once principal however its written now... But if youre watching for one rationale it could without doubt be pie.

Yes people from Vacouver rent RV's and go camping, as someone who lived in that area, I never saw a puma or bear, well actually I've seen bears but they were on the side of the road walking.

OK, first, Vancouver is a CITY - bears and mountain lions do not live in cities. I certainly wouldn't recommend renting a motorhome for visiting Vancouver if you are coming to see just the city. If you had renting a motorhome and travelling away from the city into the moutains.... maybe you might see one of those critters, but highly unlikely.

Yes you can rent motorhomes for camping and travel, but from your question, it appears you need to do a bit more research on Vancouver and British Columbia, and Canada, as you don't seem to understand where you are coming to.

You don't rent a motor home and travel to the wilderness. You might want to rent a 4 wheel drive or better still shoulder a backpack and go backpacking. What about a canoe and or kayak now that's travelling into the wilderness. Horse back riding too.
