what a great question! if it was up to just me to answer it would be hard to find the right words....luckily i've got my Bible with me! John 3:16-18 says "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it. There is no judgement waiting those who trust Him. But those who do not trust him have already been judged for not believing in the only Son of God." So the question now is.... was your brother a christian? By God sending his Son he paid for ALL of the sins of the world when Jesus died on that cross. We just have to ask him for forgiveness- he's already given it but we have to show a change of heart. God did the forgiving long ago- i just hope that your brother came to the realization that what he was doing was wrong. Its good to know that you have forgiven your brother already..... that was the right thing to do. as far as God "letting him rest in peace" that depends on the condition of your brothers heart when he died. I hope the best for you and your family! Remember what 1 John 3:16 says, " We know what real love is because Christ gave up his life for us." Thats such an awesome thing!!

God will forgive your brother if he asked for forgiveness. If you do not think your brother was sorry for the things he did, or that he never asked God to forgive him, remember, God is the only one that knows what was truly in his heart.

Your family cannot get forgiveness on behalf of your brother, that is between him and God. It sounds like you all should be praying for your own peace of mind. Trust him and know that he is God.

I am very sorry for your loss!

I believe that if your brother asked for forgivness then God will forgive him. If he didn't ask and never thought he was doing anything wrong then I'm not sure. God is very forgiving and his son died for all our sins....so that might even mean those sins that weren't asked to be forgiven.

My thoughts are with you and I hope you find peace.

God forgives everyone who asks for the forgiveness of their sins. We cannot get forgiveness for them, I'm sorry. Remember this, though, God is exceedingly merciful and your brother may have asked God to forgive him for his actions before he died. Only eternity will tell.

Yes, God is faithful and just to forgive. All you have to do is ask. Hopefully your brother made his peace with God and asked forgiveness before he left this world. His decisions have already been made; keep his family in your prayers that they come to terms with his life and his death.

Forgiveness from God comes if we repent of it. The bible says, it fairly is appointed for guy as quickly as to die, and then judgment. There are actually not any "2nd possibilities" after loss of existence. as a results of fact of this "on the instant is the day of salvation"....the time to repent of sin, and settle for Christ, in elementary terms comes earlier loss of existence. After loss of existence, there's a time whilst "each and every knee will bow and each tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord"...yet whilst a individual is made to try this (and would not do it willingly, jointly as residing)....that individual won't enter heaven. on condition which you reside and repent are you forgiven.

it is so great to pray for others, it is what we should do as children of god. but he has to ask to be forgiven he is held accountable for what he has done so he must asked to be forgiven.

god has finally judgment - and to know what he will do you have to know him - build a relationship with him.

read john and Matthew in the bible to start learning are all loving mighty god.

you need to give your life to the lord be saved and live life for the lord not the world

Yes, from what I believe (catholic religion) God will forgive him for all of his sins no matter how terrible. In my religion we are supposed to confess our sins to the priest, but they don't do that in all religions.
