If you've heard Rihanna's latest single "Unfaithful", you would have heard how she says that she is cheating on someone and doesn't want to anymore.

She said in a few interviews that its a biographical song - and that she HAS cheated in the past.

Do you think she's telling the truth on this?
I beg to differ the truth, as it is quite unbelievable for someone who JUST turned 18 (17 when the song was recorded) to have cheated on someone so badly to the point of her partner considering suicide.

I think either her label or management told her to imply that she HAS cheated, so that her song doesn't give her a fake image of singing songs which she herself cannot relate to.

And she says her latest album "A Girl Like Me" discusses issues that an 18 year old girl like herself would be going through at the time.
Hmmm well is the line
"I Don't Wanna be a Murderer..."
going through every 18 year old girl's head?

Maybe every 18 year old mental patient, that is...

NOTE: I'm not hating on Rihanna or anything... It's great how someone from the Caribbean is getting so far (I'm from the Caribbean as well), and "Unfaithful" is one of my favorites, though I had some questions towards the lyrics

I don't think that Rihanna would make up something like that. After all she is very pretty so obviously guys will like her. If ur concern about the age at which she would've cheated then don't cause i'm sure ur well aware of the fact that many young girls in today's society under the age of 16 are sexually active so Rihanna's situation is not unique. I firmly believe that what she's saying is true because prior to recording this song or even becoming a celebrity, persons with whom she attended Combermere skool with and who know her personally, confessed that she did have a lot of guys and at first I just dismissed them as rumours becoz I thought they were all hating but when she confessed to the fact that she was unfaithful herself, it really got me to thinking that maybe they were right but it still doesn't change the level of admiration I have for her becoz she's not perfect and as such will make mistakes but the fact that she has expressed deep sorrow and regret to the point where she dedicates a song to her ex apologzing for all the pain she put him through, really suggests to me that she is truly a humble, genuine person. Also remember that Ne-yo and Stargate were the persons who penned unfaithful for Rihanna to sing after she relayed her personal experience to them. There's no reason y u shouldn't believe that her album is a reflection of all the things she went through. I mean after all she did live in Barbados prior to moving to the USA so there's no way of truly knowing wat she really used to be doing back in Barbados. I know Rihanna may look like an innoncent little girl but u should never judge a book by it's cover and if she said she cheated then u can be assured that she did becoz she's not a liar.

Rihanna's song is okay. It doesn't do much for me as a grown a-- woman but my teen daughter likes it. As to whether or not she's telling the truth, she may be. A guy may have considered suicide about her infidelity at some point in her life. She's young and she may have been involved with a guy who was young and naive and seriously disturbed. I just wish that more grown a-- women like me would make more music because these teen singers with these manufactured sounds don't have a thing on Chaka Khan, Mary J. Blige, Aretha Franklin (in her hey day), etc. Who gives a rap about Rihanna? Let's see if she's around in 10 years.

I'm with you on the last part and pretty much through your whole comment I agree with you. But I personally don't think she has carried out any of these actions that she's singing about in this song either. But I do like the song!!!

"I Don't Wanna be a Murderer..." could just be like a.... medafore. she's not serious. like he was in so much pain he just didn't want to go on. it wouldn't suprise me if she's cheated just cus she's 18 it doesn't mean anything. i know 14 and 15 year olds who've cheated before. it's nothing new.

I love "Unfaithful"! Maybe the producers forced her to make the lyrics more dramatic... but she sounds very emotional in the song...

I love that song, I almost cry every time I hear it. I don't actually believe that She means that she is literally killing him. Only on the inside, like killing his soul, his spirit, you know what I mean?
