well I'm 14 going on 15 and i like to sing. i always thought of singing as a career but i didn't really know if i could sing good like all the other singers. and i am really shy to. if i were you, i would record my self singing and listen to it and decide if its good and maybe show your closet friend or family member or someone that will tell you the truth and give you advise and some confidence.

Yeah, if you really like to sing go for it! You should follow your dreams. If there's nobody yet who's shy and likes to sing-then all of the singers better move over and make way for you.

Of course it's possible to overcome your shyness. First you have to decide if your singing talent is worth overcoming your shyness in the first place.
Think of it this way: What a terrible, selfish thing to deprive others of your God-given talent. I have been touched deeply too many times and have received too great an emotional healing through song to tell someone to put that on the back shelf.
Overcome it; you can do it!

Yes, you should take lessons. Part of your shyness might be due to insecurity. By taking lessons, you'll slowly get used to singing in front of others. You'll learn a lot and over time become so confident that performing will be natural. Someday, I might even be able to buy one of your cds.

Yes it is because the shyest people grow up to be very successful. Keep doing what you do. Girl you better go take them singing lessons if that is your dream.

Try it! Not only do the lessons teach you how to sing better, they also help boost your confidence so you wont be so shy. A dream is worth it! :)

Go for it - and by beginning with the lessons you'll be able to sing with just one person until you're comfortable then you can sing in front of your teacher and parents, then keep adding more people to the list until you're not afraid to perform in front of a crowd. :)

You will eventually outgrow your shyness when you get older. But, if you want to speed things up, then yes, you need to challenge yourself by doing things you normally feel too shy to do. The more you do it, the more comfortable you will be, and the less shy. Good luck!
