i think taylor hicks will represent Alabama and the u.s. just great, i met taylor and he is a down to earth guy. dont pick on hicks.

I thought this year's American Idol (Season 5) paled in comparison to last year's (Season 4). I don't know what it was...it just seemed that none of the contestants were very interesting this year. The only people who caught my interest this year were Chris (because let's face it - he's got a great voice and he can ROCK) & Elliot (because he also has a great voice - very soulful, and he just seems like a 100% genuine person, not to mention he's overcome some hardships in his life) Oh, I should mention that I also liked Bucky because of his country-rockin' roll charm. Other than those guys, I couldn't have cared less.
Still, I don't think anything could compare to season 4. There was just something about the contestants on season 4...their performances, their personas, that kept me coming back wanting more, especially Constantine and Bo. I had to opportunity to see Bo Bice in concert this last March at a little pub in my city and got to meet him....it was awsome. He's a really down to earth guy, and boy, when he's not restricted to the rules and song types being chosen for him on American Idol, his true talent comes out and he can rock the roof off!
I agree that it was time for a guy to win.
Anyway, that's my little 2 cents on the subject. Have a good one! ;-)

I dont even know who the American Idol winner was...I stopped watching it after Paris was gone.

well yes it was time for a guy to win but i think it should have been chris daughtry. he was the best male vocalist. taylor was good i guess but chris should've won. if it was a female i think mandisa should have won. she was the best vocalist all together. she should have at least been in the last 2. but i do agree with you the last male winner was rueben studdard. and that ws like the seond season.

I thought this years was boring becasue i thought Paris really should of won beside a gray headed man. I manly just like the audtions they can be so funny.

I was very disappointed that Chris didn't go further in the competition. I think that it was rigged. But other than that, I am pleased with Tyler winning.

obviously the promotors thought so too, so they let one win. I dont watch that crappy show its more of a waste of time than answering dumb questions with even dumber answers.

I like Taylor. He has personality, showmanship and lots of singing talent. He'll be around for a while.
