I'd have to say Chicago, for 4th of July.
However, the best fireworks in the US, is not on 4th of July. Two weeks before the Kentucky Derby on the banks of the Ohio River, They have a fireworks show on the river at Louisville. It is the 2nd largest fireworks show in the world. It is awesome. But it will spoil you for any other display. Plus there is free parking, if you know where to look. I'm from Indiana so I stay on the Indiana side. If you are from north of the Ohio, I advise you to stay on north side, south of the river stay on south side. They close the bridge down for a couple days because they have bridge lit up with fireworks, as well as on barges on the Ohio.
They also have an awesome airshow, from 8 am till sundown. The Blue Angels were there. This is in April, so it usually is cold, take blankets, coats, but it was 80+ this year.

I undergo in innovations as quickly as I used to stay in New Jersey we'd pass right down to the coastline and watch the fireworks. the only draw back to that grew to become into whilst the fireworks have been carried out the boardwalk may well be packed and in simple terms moving around may well be worse than just about the different time for the period of the vacationer season.

My favorite place was in New London CT. We stood by the fence and watch them launch fireworks from the boats in the river. When they burst, there was a reflection in the water, and the echo from all the buildings on the wharf. It was beautiful and LOUD like cannons. My sons were little and I can still see their faces beaming with delight.
It was the best time, but this year I watched on TV and it was great to be laying on the couch with my sweetie, drinking wine. That was wonderful, too.

A condo in Arlington, VA, overlooking the Washington Monument, and a good dozen other simultaneous fireworks shows visible from 18 stories up...

Sit on the steps of the Jefferson Memorial in Washington D.C. You have a perfect view of the fireworks with the Washington Monument in the foreground, and their reflection in the Tidal Basin. I get there early every year, because anyone in D.C. knows this is the best spot!

The best place to me, is Washington D.C. People come from all over to view fireworks at the monument. It is truly worth the travel. It's beautiful.

I would love to see fireworks in Washington, DC sometime, but as long as I can be close to any fireworks that's good with me.
