Find some stairs; stand with the balls of your feet on the bottom step, and do toe raises. First do 15-20 a day; gradually increase that by 5-10 each week. Don't forget to stretch your feet to as great a length as possible. Find a weight vest - one with small pockets for the wieght - usually about 4-6 ounces each. (DO NOT USE ANKLE WEIGHTS as they will tear the knee joint apart like cutting off a chicken leg from the carcass.) At first, just walk around the house with a minimum of weight. Gradually increase both the amount of weight and your level of activity. Once you've acclimated to a certain weight, play a game of "21" on a basketball court - not on the asphalt - while wearing the weighted vest.
