ok the point about paddy is a difficult one insomuch as it is a shortened form of my name and the potential offence lies in its other use as a generic term for irishmen.but where do people get off mimicking an irish accent in front of me;i get total strangers insulting me to my face;and because the irish and english races have shared so much history people do it unthinkingly in an affectionate way all the time.as a well bred person i would never use any personal info until someone mentions it themselves and then only wiht great caution and i would be afraid on a practical level of getting a crack on the jaw;is the irish nation some sort of a special category ;i.e.they are everyone's mate and the favoured butt of every joke.pls let me in on the rules
