As in all wars the impact is felt mostly by the innocent. The people who live in the region want peace and prosperity not death and despair. You look at the pictures to see the structural damage. The psychological damage especially to kids we will never know. Iran, Syria and the USA could have stopped it before it started. This is about power and who controls the middle east not Israel and Hezbollah. It is a tragedy that sees children killed for the glory of politicians.

The impact is negligible. On the population or the infrastructure. They still whistle while cycling to work. Implacable lot, the human race. There are damage assessment teams in the area from various insurance companies. Kim Howells for the Foreign Office has cautioned that a little restraint should be exercised by both sides. His advice has yet to be echoed by No. 10 or the White House but the Second Lady is in the area and will report back soon. I don't live there but I hear things on the news.

War always impacts on those least able to do anything about it.
The Israelis dropped leaflets telling the Lebanese people to withdraw 10 miles from the border. This is fine if you have money and somewhere to go. If you have nothing, no transport only a home and a basic living do you stay and get caught in the cross fire (after which someone will say, 'we told you to go') or walk out with what you can carry?
As far as I am aware there is no relief operations in the area and it will be too dangerous to send them in right now.
People will lose homes, livlihood, face hunger, disease and deprivation but feel lucky to be alive??
Anyone who says there is no impact on ordinary people is living in a dream.

Look at it this way. When Hitler started the liberals said the same things they are saying today. They blamed the Jews, and gave Hitler a free pass. Sound familiar? Finally Hitler got stronger and stronger, and became a threat to us. Sound familiar? Islamo fascists are a threat to us now, and 9/11 is proof of that.
Hey, you can hide ur head in the sand pretending it dont affect you if you like, but I wont. I know they'll come for us after Israel, even if you don't.

there is no impact at the moment but there will be soon.it should be remembered that israel does nothing unless america says so.the attacks on lebanon are only to see what the reaction from the arab league will be,the door is then open for bush and blair to invade syria and iran.this will have dire repecusions on the whole world.israel must be disarmed before they start another world war, because if there is another world war there will be no winners only losers
