I know somebody already told you this, I just want to echo their comments.

In Texas, public school teachers start at about $35K-$38K. Catholic schools start at about $25K. The environment at the public schools can be great, but some can be almost dangerous. At the majority of Catholic school the environment will be great. The kids are better managed because parents who pay money want to make sure their kid is getting a good education. The parents will be more involved with problem kids. This will seldom happen at most public schools.

So if you want the $$$ go public. If $$$ is secondary the go Catholic.

it depends on the Catholic school...In some cities and state the school teachers make three time what a public school teacher gets.
Catholic schools are funded very well compared to public schools, they run on tuition, donations and funding from the church itself. The Saint Paul School here in Concord NH even gives a lot of its faculty private homes on grounds. This school is so huge and well funded they have lobster bakes through out the summer and a campus that wood make any Ivy league collage look weak and under funded.
But then again I have seen inner city Catholic schools that look just as bad as the public schools in the same area.

In Texas Catholic school teachers make considerable less than their public school counterparts. A Catholic school teacher would be quite fortunate to make 30k here..more like 27k is more realistic. Public school teachers are starting at 35-40k. But of course Catholic schools are a great work environment compared to public schools. You have to decide how bad you need the money. Also with Catholic schools you don't have to mess around with certification nonsense.
