I'd be happy with a qualified president....even if it were a female african albino giraffe.

How about we first work on getting a President that can strike a balance between exercising the will of the people, and also, when times call for it, behave in an unpopular manner when it works for the betterment of the nation.
I have no qualms about having a female President if she can do what I mentioned. Quite frankly this whole push to have a President who is from a minority group or female is missing the point. The President should exercise his executive powers prudently, not be the idol for every disenfranchised group out there.

If it's solely because she's a woman, then I am completely against it. If it's because she's the best person for the job, then I am completely for it.
Voting for a woman because she's a woman instead of being the best person is the most insulting thing I've heard recently. For women. It's like saying they're not good enough to stand up on their own. That they are merely a novelty or that their gender requires help.
If Hillary Clinton wins the presidency, I hope it's because she seems like she will do the best job. Not because of who her husband was. Not because she's a woman.

Being President is an awesome responsibility, and the person who would come forward and lead our nation must be strong of mind and heart in devotion to our principles laid out in the constitution of the USA. Congress has just as much power as the Pres.
and if a woman was Pres., I wonder if she could influence Congress to
be reasonable and be effective, or
would she be such a person as to be allowing powerful people to circumvent her authority. The demands for our president our such that she would have to be mature in her thinking, ideas, and convictions. I believe a woman could do the job as well as a man, so long as she allowed herself to keep counsel with the most upright and righteous. You know, man or woman, we are human with human frailties, there is no perfect one.
I like Hillary for her purposeful
life, never shrinking from direct hits on her ideas, she stands up for herself, and women's issues, children's issues, so from that standpoint, we might see some changes in gov't expenditures. Mental health, and health insurance have suffered overwhelming neglect in our country.

That depends. I don't think we should vote for a woman simply because she is a woman that is as sexist as a man saying a woman could never be president. If she had good ideas, honesty, and a firm grip on world events and politics then sure I would be happy to vote for her (Margaret Thatcher was a great world leader)

As long as she is capable of doing the job well, I think it's a great idea. And as long as it's not Hillary Clinton...
My bet is that we'll have a woman vice president first. And when the president can no longer run, or decides to not run, she will be next in line.

I think as long as we have ties with middle eastern society and depend on their exports we will have only male presidents simply for trade/ social standing. I hope I am wrong but that is what i get out of it. Unless our president is willing to put on a full face mask and dress when stepping off Air force One.

If the woman just happens to be the best person for the job, I am totally for it. But I am not for a woman president just for the sake of it. She has to be the best.

I think that we should have the best person as President. Man or woman, makes no difference.

I do, many people would agree that male presidents haven't always done the greatest. Besides, this country could use a nice shock and change, maybe it would help reverse some sexism.
