I have 4 pcs and would like them to be able to use my dialup connection at the same time.I was told that networking them would be way to achieve this,but I don't know what equipment or special devices I need . Can anyone help I am Computer iliterate.

a router, and ethernet cables, but the other networked computers may not be very fast if its already a dialup connection

You need a router and network cards for your pc's. Office Max, Office Depot, Staples... all of these places have the hardware. A couple hundred books and 90 minutes of set up time and you should be good to go... I set up 4 pc's and one printer in my house, although I use broadband and not dial up.
