I mean, you get these questions on here about abortion...most of the time these girls are obviously upset and scared about what the future holds...people make mistakes, yet all the pro-lifers, instead of trying to understand the problem and offer real advice, they scare these girls even more with Damnation and hellfire...Have pro-lifers found the secret to the perfect existence? Or are they laying down their decrees and opinions to cover up sins of their own?

Danielle, If my mom had had an abortion, I wouldn't have had to grow up in her alcoholic, abusive, and neglectful care which FIA was witness to and never did anything, I could have grown up in heaven instead, and trust me, it would have been a lot nicer

Katy, have YOU ever seen an abortion being done, or have you just seen those dramatized photos and graphs pro-lifers have put out to scare people...actually, I have seen an abortion, thanks for asking

and why are you all hatin on the girls? Doesn't it take a penis too? If I remember correctly, unless god comes down to stick his almighty di-ck in you, you need sperm to fertilize an egg, what about the guys in this...are they free to do as they wish and leave the consequences to the girls?

To err is human, to forgive is divine.
People make mistakes, it's what makes us mortal. It is a horrible thing to make people who know they made a mistake feel like scum for not knowing what to do. It is the complete opposite of what God would want you to do. God would offer you forgiveness, and understanding, and honest advice for your problems. But some people in their zealous quest for christianity lose sight of what really matters: Caring for one another. Everyday I read news about death, destruction, hunger, rage, apathy, abortions, liberals, conservatives, christians, muslims. Everyday I hope that people will come to their senses and realize that we need to help each other, put aside our beliefs and stand as one for the common good of humanity. People who preach hellfire and damnation to those who make mistakes, are just as bad as the terrorists who kill innocents daily. I am not religious, but I give great weight to the 10 commandments. Most importantly, love thy neighbor as thyself. If we cannot learn to live together without hatred, the human race is doomed.

Because if they are adult enough and responsible enough to have sex..and unprotected sex at that, then they should be adult enough to take on the responsibilities that come along with that. Have you ever seen an abortion being done? It's not a pretty sight. Many women get them then suffer their entire lives..some don't but some do. These girls ask for the advice and then they get it...if they don't want to hear what people have to say then they certainly shouldn't ask. I got pregnant when I was 17 and ya know what...abortion for me was never an option...I hate how you see these young girls getting pregnant and having abortions like it's nothing..and then you see the same ones making that mistake again. It's an "easy" out and allows them to be careless and immature and irresponsible...and for many unborn child to be aborted because of it. For some women it's a very tough, uneasy decision but they should consider that and the guy should consider that before getting themselves into that situation.

I'm pro-life and I'm not like that. I think the biggest problem is pro-lifers are like Christians... some are extremely dogmatic and push things on others because it's not "their way." Most aren't like that, but the ones that are just want to force everyone to their way so much that they'll do anything to do so. Coming on here where scared pregnant teens are seeking advice about abortions is easy access to push their way. Personally, I don't approve of abortion. Especially for stupid reasons like "I didn't know I'd get pregnant for having sex" or whatnot. I hate women who have abortions as a form of birth control too. But I do see that this poor kids are scared, and try to give them as non-biased of an opinion on it as I can. I do try to put in each post that I -am- biased, so the other options I list will be more detailed and obviously favored, but I hope I'm not giving any scary info about abortion either. I mostly look at the fact that a friend of mine paid $500 for her abortion, and at that price I'd rather do something that my insurance will cover (I've paid almost nothing for both pregnancies so far). I'll admit that abortion is not for me, but might be for some people. I do hate those people who are guilting with this "innocent baby killer" stuff. I may feel like I've killed someone (which is why I don't do it) but I refuse to guilt someone into seeing things my way. Though I'll admit, I'm finding my tolerant behavior to be rather a rarity lately (no offense to anyone). Of course, this behavior isn't just found in pro-lifers and Christians, but those are the two biggest groups that i've encountered.

I don't usually answer religiously, but tonight I am in rare form.
I am pro-life and have never had an abortion, but I realize that people make mistakes. Who hasn't given into temptation? Have any of you religious folks heard of 'free will.' I don't know about anyone else but when I screw up I sure appreciate the forgiveness of Jesus dying on the cross, that is what he died for right? A scared young (most likely non-Christian) girl does not need rebuking, she needs someone to show her the way, Jesus' love. The very event that might bring her to the Lord is being thwarted by your self-rightiousness. A really freaked out, feeling backed in a corner and feeling that no one will understand person can make drastic unwise decisions.
The other thing is, sin is sin to God... if you have ever lied, cheated, stolen, lusted, had envy, jealousy, greed, selfishness just once in your life you are as far from God as any murder, rapest, con man or drug dealer... just one sin separates us from God and heaven, doesn't mater what it is. Also, who made any of us judge? I believe that is God's job still, isn't it? Here are my scripture referances:
Romans 3:23
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
John 8:7
But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her."
John 8:6-8 (in Context)
Instead of pointing out everybody's problems why not be a problem solver? These girls will not stop having abortions if you take away the clinics and outlaw the practice; instead they will go to dirty garages, alleys and who knows risking their lives, trusting some guy with a rusty knife. You may say 'good they'll get what they deserve' all I can say is God opposes the proud. I have my own ideas on how to deal with the abortion issue but I've written too much already and most people probably don't care, they just want to be right.
Whew! That felt good to get out!

You're right it's all of us (<~ that's sarcasm.) This isn't an answer moreso a plea to not lump us all in. I am a pro-lifer...but I also recognize the fear that girls/women may be going through. THe only women that I absolutely have no sympathy for are the ones that use abortion clinics like birth control; and, yes, there are those women. The rest I would rather counsel in a loving way - God is love and if we're supposed to be a "light" then we need to act like Him not like righteous mercenaries for God. We can both show love and not condone senseless murder at the same time.

If these girls were truly upset about abortion, they'd be talking with a priest or their parents for moral guideance, or a friend who had had an abortion or someone at planned parenthood who could give them scientific facts. Why would they possibly come here to take advice from strangers on the www? I would never have an abortion, but if I were to imagine myself in that situation, I wouldn't even think about getting online. That's just stupid.
Besides...how do pro-choicers know that women who have abortions (I prefer to call them "murderesses") DON'T go to hell?
I do have sins of my own, but nothing as serious as murdering a voiceless baby who has no choice.

Hey, you're stereotyping. I'm a pro-lifer, but I don't preach fire and damnation. I hate it when people do that one any questions so I try to avoid it. I try to offer comfort and usually propose other alternatives than abortions. I don't preach to them about accepting consequences of their mistakes because I know how scary it can be to think you're pregnant and maybe not be ready for that yet in your life.
So...please don't stereotype on that one. There are some of us pro-lifers that really do care about the person and try to offer other advice.

All pro lifers? I don't agree with abortion but perfer to offer all options to the woman that is pondering it. All groups have their fringe element and I don't agree with the hell fire and damnation set when it comes to abortion. They are like the modern day Scribes and Pharisees they read the law and don't see the love and understanding and compassion that is God's way as well

I have never had an abortion. Abortions are something people will always remember. Would you want to go your whole life knowing you killed an innocent child? I certainly wouldnt want that on my soul. It also says in the Bible that murder is wrong. Instead of abortion try adoption or better yet QUIT GETTING PREGNANT AND KEEP YOUR LEGS CLOSED. thats real advice not something to scare people.

I think that pro-life supporters do have soul. They care about the unborn baby. I do feel sorry for the girls who are pregnant and scared. I think that the pro-life supporters want these girls to know that there are other options besides abortion, such as adoption. It would definitely be a very tough decision.
