Check your lease! The lease exists for your benefit as much as it does for your landlord. The usual amount of time is 30 days from the time WRITTEN notice is given. But ultimately the stated terms would be in the lease itself. Even if your lease has expired and you are on a month to month basis, these clauses usually continue regardless. Sometimes landlords try to bully tenants, but once you point out the specifics on the contract THEY wrote, the become agreeable.

But, if you are being evicted from not paying your rent, you are in breach and the terms of the lease, for your benefit, aren't likely to apply any longer.

For non payment of rent, most jurisdiction require 5 to 10 days. If you end up going to court, most judge grant a reasonable time frame like 2 weeks to 30 days but he doesn't have to. He could order you out within 24 hours it just depends on the circumstances of the case.

19 days is very reasonable.
