if you want to run windows 98 on it.
Any new operating system will added up. 2 years ago to run windows XP 256 MB was more than enough. With today's application even 1024 MB is not enough.
I would not buy anything new with at least 1024MB RAM or better with an option to expand to 2048 MB. That will keep you happy for the next 2.5 years.

If you're using Windows XP, it is BARELY enough. Need at LEAST 512 for any sort of decent performance. I recommend at least 1 GIG of RAM
Since RAM is so cheap these days, you should upgrade your memory
To find out what type memory your computer uses, go to the link below

Only if your running Windows 98 and not doing anything on it. Most new computers have anywhere from 512mb to 1g.

It'll work fine as long as you're not trying to run too many programs at once. Go to www.crucial.com and do the scan. This will tell you what you need to know about upgrading your memory.(what your PC is capable of upgrading to)

If you are referring to memory, that's not very good, although it will run Microsoft Office and other low-graphics programs. You can pretty much forget about playing games on it, though.
