I know most of this music. Smokey Robinson's best ever was "My Girl" ... and I would love to talk about you - if you would be my girl, I would have sunshine on a cloudy day ... when it was cold outside I'd be as mellow as the month of May, as long as I was with you. Frankie Valli had a lot of great songs for a 60s teen idol but Grease is the most enduring. Great movie to capture the feel of the era. Rise and This Guy's in Love with You ... how do you know such incredible stuff like that? Two of the best. And hard to belief that one band could do both of those. Spooky ... incredible 60s music.

So how about being my girl? "say you're in love, in love with this guy (dah dah dah dah) ... if not i'll just die-high-ie." Then the trumpet takes over and I die a slow, fading lovers death.

Do you know The Association? "Cherish is the word I use to describe all the feelings that I have hiding here for you inside"?

These are some of the greatest songs ever. Heat Wave by
Martha & the Vandella's is my favorite for life. Have you ever
heard 'Bad Luck' by Teddy Pendagrass?
If you haven't heard the whole album of Smoky's greatest hits,
you will love it. 'I gotta Dance to Keep from Crying' , &
'Oh, Baby, Baby' are great love songs. Another great love song
is 'Last Kiss' by J.Wilson. I don't know why the oldie stations
don't play it.

I can remember some of the words to Baby, Baby:
Oh, lalal lala - I did you wrong
My heart went out out to play,
& in the game, I lost you
What a price to pay
I'm cryin' lala lala - Smokey Robinson & the Miracles.

Here's Last Kiss:
Where oh where, can by baby be
the Lord took her away from me
she's gone to heaven, so I've to be good
so I can see my baby, when I leave, this world.

It was a stormy nite, the rain was comming down,
there were people standing all around -

If anyone knows the rest - email me!

Alot of these songs were produced by Gamble & Huff - hope I
have their names right.

The song mentioned above - Smoke from a Distant Fire -
beyond excellent.

It would be great, if some of today's groups, would remake some
of these masterpieces.
