According to Yahoo's help section (I typed in the word "language"), Yahoo does not support any Chinese or Japanese characters, so you are not at a Yahoo website. Perhaps a look alike. Be careful.

Your regional settings in your browser or Windows OS might be set to chinese.

Browser (Internet Explorer):
1. Go to View > Encoding > choose Auto Select or Western European (Windows)

In Windows:
1. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel
2. Double Click "Regional and Language Options"
3. Make sure that for every tab (i.e. Regional Options, Lanugages, and Advanced) the language is set to "English (United States)" or "United States"

Also check if the web address you are going to is pointing correctly to http://www.yahoo.com

Hope it helps.

Scroll down the answer page below the categories. There's a drop box which should let you select English only. If not, you may need to change your browser setting.

Look at your URL in the address bar___

Is it http://hk.yahoo.com/ ?

That's why !

If you put in www.yahoo.com
or http:\\www.yahoo.com

you wil get Yahoo! in English
