NOUN: One that buys, especially a purchasing agent for a retail store.
A lucrative job at times and if you could see yourself shopping in New York and other parts of the world for retailers like Winners, Retmains, Stitches etc. This could be for you.
Other than that, a fashion designer has to be willing to compromise. Not everything you do will be like buy everyone. You have to love sewing and creating. You obviously have to be a trend setter.
I know people who have been successful in fashion design. They have created one thing that 'stuck'. A t-shirt with a catchy logo, jeans with cartoon characters, half shirt or jackets or even the pleated skirt. Create something unique. Then you have to know something about being an entrepreneur(not always necessary).
A specialized Art school sounds like your best choice unless you change your mind then a regular college will allow you more choices.
