Check out the American Association for Nude Recreation at http://www.aanr.com/

Another good website to look at is The Naturist Society at http://www.naturistsociety.com/

Both are national organizations that promote the nudist or naturist lifestyle.

I would recommend that if you do visit a nudist resort, park, or campground, that you visit one that is affiliated with either the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR) or The Naturist Society (TNS) -- at least for your first visit.

When you do decide to go, it's a good idea to call ahead to let the park or resort know that you want to visit. Take a couple of towels -- you always need to have a towel under you when you sit or lie down -- and be sure to take some sunscreen. I have know a lot of people who have forgotten the sunscreen and have gotton a royal sun burn.

The only other thing I can say is enjoy yourselves.

We've been to both nudism resorts or retreats and to swingers clubs and the two are very different, although there are some similarities.

When you go to a nudism resort or club, everyone around will be in some state of nudity. You could go and not be naked because these places are often "clothing optional". However, this activity is frowned upon.

While you are there, you might meet other people there who are swingers. Not everyone there is necessarily a swinger, but there may be some there. One of the rules of being a swinger is that "No means No", so if you're not interested in doing anything sexual with someone who talks to you two, simply tell them no and they should move on. If not, contacting the managment will help them move along.

There are two different thoughts when it comes to becoming 'excited' when you're at a nudist resort. Sometimes it is frowned upon because it is a sexual thing, other times people look at it as a natural response to the human body. Should you become excited, there are some things that you can do to help this. One is to jump into a pool or hottub. This will both hide the problem and possibly elimiate it. Another thing to do is temporarily put on your shorts again until things return to normal. You could also excuse yourself to the restroom until you are OK again. However, we do have to say, you might be excited by the nudity temporarily, but you will eventually get used to it and it will become second nature.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but nudism isn't about sex. In fact, if you are at a nudist club and start getting sexual, you could very well find yourself escorted out. Nudism and swinging are very different. Nudity is only automatically sexual to people who routinely avoid nudity. I have spoken to Muslim men who have a very hard time for their first few months in the USA because they are surrounded by women who have their hair uncovered, all the time. For them, this is essentially a form of nudity. It is a part of the body that is never to be uncovered in their culture except in intimate circumstances. Thus, they associated uncovered women's hair with sex and had to adjust to the difference.

Typically the people that partake in that sort of thing are old. That's why Palm Springs has so many nudist communities...they play golf and hang around with their saggy skin.

You don't want to do anything with others at a nudist club - it is very risky (STDs). So what if you get excited? No one will care...
