A well functioning capital market is a market with no liquidity problems and with low transaction costs.

The current market isn't an efficient market because trading fees are too high for individual investors. ($40 round trip for canadians, for example)

Anyway, all government and money is an illusion.
Pretending something is there when it is not.
That is what is wrong with capitalism.
