the US always does what Israel wants and for what so we can be attacked by lunatic fanatical terrorists. Also, we give more aid to Israel than the whole of the middle east combined, if we gave some of that aid to say Afghanistan and Palestine we would have far less terrorists in the world. Stop being so dumb America, dont let the Israelis control America, esp you dumb rednecks that voted for Bush again !!!

Just as i expected all the idiotic rightwingers came out and accused me of nazism for merely asking an intelligent question. This has nothing to do with race. Even CNN made the same comment i did on Lou Dobb's Show. You idiots who dont like to think outside the box please wean yourself off the crap you hear on Fox and pick up a book once in while !!

people i agree that israel should receive help but not so dispropotionately to the rest of the world. israel is the biggest recepient of US aid which makes no sense since it is well off. Also you have to look at the root of the terrorism problem. if we helped the muslim countries to establish a decent govt with a decent economy the terrorists would have a hard time recruiting new people. you know the saying a hungry man is an angry man!

Another point is that only America and a few contries consider Israel a true democracy. Yes they are democratic and fair to their own people but have been condemened by the UN and Europe many time for horrendous atrocities on civilians.

let address the root cause of terrorism and bring the israelis and palestinians together instead of being a cheerleader for Israel!

Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East. Therefore, it deserves America's support, just like Taiwan and South Korea do, and South Vietnam did, in the face of Red China. America was part of the coalition that decided that there would BE an Israel after World War II, as a homeland for the battered Jews. Having made that decision, the United States is going to make it stick, no matter HOW pissed off the rest of the world is about it. Time was, the Europeans supported Israel. Now they blame the Jews for the Middle East crisis. The same people who blame America for going after the terrorists, blame the Israelis for doing the same thing in their fight to survive.

If you were walking down a street and saw someone getting attacked by several people, wouldn't you give that person a knife to defend themself with?
You didn't gain anything by giving away the knife but it would be the right thing to do.

Assuming you have to choose between giving money to Israel (which does not terrorize America) and Afghanistan and other mideast countries that did/do terrorize America why would you reward terrorism? According to your rationale, Israel could start receiving money again if only they start to terrorize America. This is not the foreign aid policy we want.

Israel has the misfortune of being a tiny country in a hostile neighborhood. They have their problems but are a LOT more like the United States than most other countries. If they were bigger and stronger and in a safer part of the world, we might call them Canada or England.

True, we don't give aid to Canada or England, but then again Canada's only border is us and England is close to France...neither one is about to be attacked anytime soon. Israel, on the other hand, is attacked daily. Would you help a friend in need or would you leave them twisting in the wind? Your choice says a lot about who you are.

No, that could be Obama. Obama, for the period of his 4 years, visited the Middle-East and quite simply forgot to discuss with Americans ONLY best friend there: Israel. ...Obama is the only placing at the 'Israel' exhibit. Romney, like many different conservatives, have consistently defended the alliance among America and Israel.

Our government keeps thinking that giving aid (monetary, military, etc.) to Israel is our Judeo-Christian duty as Israel is the chosen nation, I imagine.

Or maybe it is a guilt trip: those who don't help/are sympathetic to Israel are Nazis/antisemitic/racists. Simple demagoguery, my friend.

I am a firm believer that Israel will survive on its own without any outside help. But America keeps buying into this "Middle East exemplary democracy" crap and into its own religious mission to support Israel no matter what.

I am also certain that Islamic terrorists will have no cause to persecute/kill/bomb Americans anywhere the moment we stop giving unconditional aid to Israel.

Israel is not the innocent lamb we've been led to believe.

Cindybin,

Just because someone does not agree with what the United States is doing with Israel does not make them a nazi. Stop using that to criticize other peoples' arguments because its ignorant. You want to talk politics, use politics, and not personal statements against someone else.

Don't you just love the moronic comment above. The moment you disagree with the U.S.'s Israel politics you become an anti-semitic Nazi.

We dont get anything, but I guess someone has to protect them from being wiped off the map. Since nobody else in the world seems to care, we keep them from being crushed by all of their neighbors who hate them.
