another note being an arab is nothing racial either if you see the faces of many of these people you can clearly see the differences some of them can be thought of as white but there is history behind that!
eastern europe has muslim populations.
many people cannot tell the differences between arab and indo-asian ethnic groups as well

Not all Middle East countries are Arab. Iran, for example, is not an Arab country (the people are Persians) and Turkey is not an Arab country, (the people are Turkish). ...and Afghanistan is not a Arab country.

know there are alotta intelligent peeps in this forum but there's also a good amount of misinformed idiots... I made this thread to clear some facts about Iran that some of u may have no clue about...

First, the most important fact i wanna clerify is that IRANIANS are NOT ARABS... SMH at idiots sayin but they're in the middle east, but most of their neightbors are Arabs, so what? Persians (which is the main Race/Culture) in Iran are a completely different race... the best way to see the difference is like comparin it to the difference of Japanese and Chinese people or Korean people.

Ethnicity and Race by Country:

Iran- Persian 51%, Azerbaijani 24%, Gilaki and Mazandarani 8%, Kurd 7%, Arab 3%,

This led the country into a dangerous rift between a government seeking reform and moderate liberalization against a clergy still extremely conservative. This rift reached a climax in July of 1999, when massive anti-government protests erupted in the streets of Tehran. The disturbances lasted over a week before police and pro-government vigilantes dispersed the crowds. Khatami was re-elected in June of 2001 but his efforts were repeatedly blocked by the religious Guardian Council.

After Khatami's reelection, conservative elements within Iran's government moved to undermine the reformist movement, banning liberal newspapers and disqualifying candidates for parliamentary elections. This clampdown on dissent, combined with the failure of Khatami to reform the government, led to growing political apathy among Iran's youth.

In June 2003, anti-government protests by several thousand students took place in Tehran.Several human rights protests also occurred in 2006.

As you can see from some of the answers here, it's due to willful ignorance. Ignorance means that a person has not been informed. Willful ignorance means that they COULD learn but choose not to... and this seems to go hand in hand with the need to spread their ignorance around.

I know several people from Yeman, Palestine, Israel, Iran and Iraq. They each have different views on things and while some share a common cultural background, they are very different people.

More education and less acceptance of intolerance is the key.

The overwhelming majority of countries in the Middle East are Arab nations.

All Syrians, Jordanians, Palestinians, Egyptians, Iraqis, Lebanese, and Iranians (just to name a few) are Arabs. The titles are given to achieve a political purpose. That political purpose is to demoralize the actions of the Israelis who are fighting against the Palestinians.

If Palestinians are also Arabs, then there is no argument that Palestinians deserve such a small piece of land. Since they are Arabs, they can just go to one of several other Arab nations instead of taking the one country that Jews can call home.

Arab (pronounced Areb)--
a member of semetic people, originally from the Arabian penninsula and neighboring territories, inhabiting much of the Middle East and North Africa.

This in know way is a derogitory term. Its just like saying white, black, asian, ect. 90% of the people in that region are Arabic. Now what is ignorant is thinking all middleasterners are muslims or even worse terrorists.

It would be easy to say that people are 'ignorant'.

In today's press coverage there is much confusion about 'who is what and where'. When we look at maps, it is normal and natural for us to want to say "Here is a border, who is inside of it and where". This natural tendency comes from our elementary school lessons. It is done this way as not to confuse us at a young age. As we get older we learn that there is a complex, interwoven humanity that inhabits the planet. So it is natural for us to say "Asia ininhabited by Asians, Africa, by Africans".

Many people are not aware of the differences between arab and non-arab inhabitants as much as they are not aware of the different sects of Islam or different tribes of Africa or different types of New Englanders.

Hope this helps.
