I am only offering personal opinion here, but I think he cares about them. I wouldn't use the fact that he didn't speak at the NAACP Conference for a few years as an indication that he doesn't like African Americans. The NAACP ran a horrifying campaign ad in the first election that was untrue, and he simply refused to address that black organization. He did however, reach out to other African American Organizations. I personally ignore entertainers, they aren't qualified to sift sand so why listen to any of them?

That kanye west thing was infuriating; i find it horrendous that during a show to benefit the victims of katrina this child would see fit to politicize the issue. Any moron knows that its not "black people" that bush doesnt care about, its poor people-white, yellow, red, etc. way to go, mr. west; your uninformed and uninsightful outburst will really further the cause.

Bush is an enigma. I watched his speech to the NAACP on CSPAN. Who in their right mind would speak to an auditorium full of black people and start off the speech discussing slavery?

well snubbing the naacp for 6 years did not help dispel the rumor. i think it's more of a case that republicans know that most african americans vote democrat anyway so they don't even bother. sort of like democrats have no chance of swaying the fundamentalist christian vote. he doesn't care because he knows his chances of getting votes of african americans is slim to none. i don't think it's a racist thing. it's a poltical thing.
