Nosebleeds in children are almost always of the anterior type. Anterior nosebleeds are common in dry climates or during the winter months when the dry air parches the nasal membranes so that they crust, crack, and bleed. This can be prevented if you will place a bit of lubricating cream or ointment about the size of a pea on the end of your fingertip and then rub it up inside the nose, especially on the middle portion (the septum).
Many physicians suggest any of the following lubricating creams or ointments. They can all be purchased without a prescription: Borofax ointment,® A and D Ointment,® Mentholatum,® Vicks Vaporub,® and Vaseline.® Up to three applications a day may be needed, but usually every night at bedtime is enough.

some human beings have an inclination in route of nosebleeds. both my dad and my son have that condition. they can only be sitting in a chair and all of sudden blood comes dripping out for no glaring reason. numerous issues that help are a million) drink a lot of water to keep hydrated as dryness might want to be an irritant, 2) keep her fingernails decrease short, it may sound kinda gross, yet some toddlers will unknowingly (or do it in inner most) %. their nostril and lengthy fingernails might want to nick a blood vessel of their nostril causing it to scab and then re-bleed, 3) positioned a small volume of Vaseline only around the hollow and particularly interior the nostril, this enables to keep the realm secure and moistened. My son is now 25 and he nonetheless has nosebleeds even with the very incontrovertible certainty that fewer than he did even as he changed into youthful. it truly is properly worth it to tutor the nosebleeds for your daughter's health care professional the subsequent time you're in for a verify-up. The health care professional will possibly favor to seem in her nostril to work out what's taking position. If she has a nosebleed that couldn't end or if it bleeds plenty and has clots, she must be considered by using the health care professional actual now.

It is definitely the dry air. Ocean drops will keep the membranes in your daughter's nose moistened and will not obstruct breathing like petroleum jelly products can. The drops are inexpensive and are even available at the 99 cent only stores in a generic form. The drops are non-toxic and have no side affects. They are even recommended for babies.

My daughter had that when she was in her single digit years. It happens when the blood vessel walls in the nose are very thin. Drying these aggravates this.
I finally had her nostrils cauterized (chemically) and the problem went away.
But I became real expert in stopping these nosebleeds when they came up.
Have your kid lie down, and put a cold rag on the rear of the neck.
Her babysitter (a lady of 60 who used to be a teacher) told me she had NEVER seen anything like that in her life, and was surprised how well I could handle that.

Have seen the humidity cause this...if it gets really dry and her nose starts hurting, have her go into the bathroom and turn the shower on very hot and breathe in the steam through her nose. Works for me.

i'm not sure why this happens but it happened to me also all through my childhood.. i'm now 24 and amazingly it hasnt happened for last few years.. but it was definately related to heat.. i could feel when my body was getting too hot and so i had about 30 seconds or so to grab some tissues before it started..
(sorry i know that doesn't answer your question, just wanted you to know that it's not totally uncommon, and that there is a possiblilty that she can just out grow it..)
