The left side is best for blood flow, but since you are still early along, any position that is comfortable is ok. I still tend to lay on my back sometimes because it helps with backaches and then I can feel the baby moving the most. I am 25 weeks along. As long as there is no discomfort or pain, any position is ok.

I've heard on your left side. Helps with circulation. I'm 12 weeks pregnant and I'm already having the circulation problems..waking up with numb limbs. I sleep with a pillow on each side and one under my head. I usually use one pillow to support my back and one to put one leg up on. It's the most comfortable I can get...stinks because we've got a long time to go and already uncomfortable! Best of luck to you!

Your left side is best. At this stage of pregnancy it's fine to sleep in any comfortable position, but as you grow, your left side is the best. You should try to get used to it now so that you aren't struggling with it later in pregnancy.

There's no harm in sleeping on your right side, lying on your left side is actually good for you and your baby. It improves the flow of blood and nutrients to the placenta and it helps your kidneys eliminate waste products and fluids from your body. It helps, reduce swelling in your ankles, feet, and hands. If you train yourself to sleep on your left side early on, you'll have an easier time falling asleep when your belly is bulging later.
During the second half of pregnancy, avoid sleeping on your back. Its the position that puts the full weight of your uterus on your spine, back muscles, intestines, and the inferior vena cava. Whe sleeping on your back, it can also impaire breathing and circulation, reduce your blood pressure or increase your blood pressure.
GOOD LUCK

At this point you can still sleep on your back since the baby is small enough. I recommend sleeping on your back with your feet propped up on a pillow.....this will relieve some of the pressure on your lower back. Once the baby gets bigger that isn't and option, and it's on to the side!

On your side; especially left side. The blood can travel easier to your heart when you're on your left side. This will minimize swollen feet in your third trimester.

well on your belly is probably uncomfortable by now.. but when I was pregnant, I would lay on my side and put a pillow/blanket between my knees.. it helps with keeping your hips pain free. try it out sometime.
