also when I have my them on as parking lights the left light seems to be off but you can barely tell it's on...some one please help i have a 2001 pontiac sunfire.

oh and the left headlight is also newer than the other one by atleast 8 months

Check the ground circuit, you can do this with an ohm meter from the ground wire at the bulb to the car body, the reading should be low..1 to 3 ohms. If it is okay check under your battery for a big connector I've seen battery acid eat them up. If so just hard wire (but connect) the effected wires.

Sounds like the light may be trying to go out. Change your headlights. If that does not fix the problem you may have a short or a loose ground wire

If you have the correct bulb, you may have a ground problem. Check the wiring coming out of the headlight to see if the ground is bad.

Look for a bad ground (connection to the car frame) in the wire leads coming from the dim light

It's a bad earth/ground. Try moving the globe around and check the earth circuit for corrosion.

Check to see if you got the right bulb sounds like you got one that is for high beams not one for high and low beams. fyi do not touch the glass part when u change them the oil from ur hands will make them burn out faster
