The best way to get people to do your bidding is to make them think they are doing the right thing.
I would want to lead Christians simply because they are the largest religious group (around 2 billion) and that most of the most destructive weapons are in their hands. That's in case my plan goes wrong. In general, I would want to make as many of them on my side. And my weapon of choice would be the mass media, including Hollywood. It's actually amazing how many young people nowadays learn their history from Hollywood and are influenced by the 'American Dream'.
Therefore I would do a Ronald Reagan, start in Hollywood, join the republican party, and take the US presidency. Since I'm the anti-Christ, getting rid of people who oppose me would be easy, and I should have enough funds to have enough propaganda to blitz the opposition.
I would build my message in Hollywood itself. The main lines would be: deliver hard and instant justice, protection of the weak, tolerance towards all races and religions especially if they realise how 'God' motivates me... It does not matter whether I build a series of movies, or constantly play similar roles.
My ultimate trick would be that I would be a woman from a minority group. That would allay fears, play the feminist and race cards in reverse. Once I manage to establish this genre in Hollywood, nothing will stop me. The easiest way to shut people who oppose me is to play the feminist or the race card. Imagine, a republican who gets business backing, plus the minorities and women; I'd be unstoppable.
Once in power, I will make sure my movies are seen across the world, to prepare the ground for my military conquests. Of course these would be motivated by exactly what is portrayed in my movies. While fear (of terrorists for example) is a great way to get people behind you, it is harder for people to doubt help (not in the form of spreading democracy but spreading help to the oppressed, the establishment of proper distribution networks and the diversion of agricultural surplusses from the rubbish dump to the mouths of the hungry).
I would not be interested in non-human life; on the contrary I would subordinate it to human life and encourage people to destroy their environment, killing animals since these would not be subject to my manipulations. The destruction would further push the humans to my side. The illusion I would use scientists who have interest in doing my bidding refuting all other scientists who try to preserve the environment, may be because of who pays them, or grants they may receive.
By the end of my second term, I would have huge popularity at home and overseas: successful minority heroine, feeding the world, crushing tyrants who deprived their people, making use of the 'God-given' resources wisely for the benefit of mankind...
Then I would retire, become a 'wise-person' sprouting messages every now and then to make sure the world stays on my course. And let the machinery I started continue. The environment would be destroyed, greed would consume everyone... All in my net.
If however a 'Christ' should rise and the race and feminism card don't work, I still have my armies and eventually nuclear capabilities, but that's the ultimate end game, one I'd rather avoid. Afterall, why cut short the suffering?

Why do you want to know? Should you not ask yourself perhaps how people could recognise him and save themselves instead?
Is this not what you really want to know?
If yes, I can give you an answer to this. If no, then maybe you should ask yourself what your real motives are, and what the consequences to yourself would be.
It depends on us whether we would recognise him or not. The more we search for Christ or God, -or however other people name the Good-, the more we gradually get clues and signs. At the same time there are ways that we can protect ourselves. It is up to us to learn how to do this. Surely, the church may not be perfect and its representatives may forbid us to look into some certain books. But here it is a matter of whether you trust yourself, your own personality, or do you always blindly do whatever others tell you to do? We all need to develop a strong personality and BELIEVE. Evil will not prevail if there is faith.
If we are well trained, we will recognise Evil at some point. If we act according to what our conscience or higher self suggests us, we will be stronger than ever. Evil prevails only when we allow it to do so. Our mind plays a very large part in this. It is a very strong tool that works according to the commands that we give to it. Everything depends on our strong will -another very powerful tool that God has offered to us- and to the power of our subconscious mind. Evil gets the power that WE give to it. We have the power to diminish it, and no matter how treacherous it can be, we still have a hidden and tremendous amount of power inside us. It is the power of LOVE and CONCERN for other people.
I am talking out of personal experience. I am having visions occasionally, some times when I close my eyes in the evenings before I go to bed. I am not asleep. An image suddenly appears in front of me, and it is so vivid that in the beggining I got confused and thought that somehow my eyes were open. But when I sensed them with my fingers, I realised that this was not the case. My visions are showing me some certain objects and colours. These, have a special meaning that I will have to find out what they mean. Some are symbolic. I have made a promise to myself, to let God from now on guide my life. I have absolute trust in him, and I see that I am having more and more experiences. Some people who have not looked into these things, will simply believe or say that this is either schizophrenia or things from the devil, like a priest once told me. What they do not know, is how much research I have done and how many things I have discovered. The symptoms of schizophrenia are different, these are differences that not even most of the psychiatrists do not know of. All of my experiences started after lots of prayers that I have had, and give me a tremendous amount of strength and faith.
People will suffer if they allow themselves to suffer. Once they will have searched and experienced things, or just by only believing, they will overcome any obstacle that may come in their way. PRAYER is also very powerful. Again, I am talking out of personal experience. We do have a hidden power within us with which we can affect many certain situations and things that otherwise might be disasterous. We will discover this power THROUGH the power of LOVE. We even have the ability to affect the weather, only that most of the people do not know about this.
I was once schocked when I discovered what things I am able to do. Imagine how we can change the World to the very best, if we use this power in a good way. If somebody does the opposite, then this power -I KNOW- will work against him. The thoughts and feelings that you are sending to other people, do come back to you, BOTH good and bad.
There is nothing to be afraid of, if you really believe. We are the only ones who can change this. I think if the Anti-Christ appeared on earth, he would appear in the negative form of our minds. I DO NOT ALLOW THIS and never will. I also believe that this is one of the hidden messages in Peter Jackson's film The Lord of The Rings. Like Gandalf characteristically mentions to Frodo:
"Even the smallest person, can change the course of the future"...

Difficult question, got me really thinking it takes you into a world of new thinking. I think looking at things the other way round to the normal way is very helpful in your spiritual journey, I do this when trying to work out the bible.
An example would be Jesus said it was hard for a rich man to get to heaven. So everyone assumes poor people go to heaven easily. But if you turn this thinking upside down you can easily see that Jesus could be saying that poor people will find it hard to get to heaven too. But choose to emphasise the rich who tend to be more corrupted.
If I were the Antichrist I would concentrate on breaking down relationship between people in families, business school etc. by encourage hedonism and selfishness. This may already be happening I know how selfish I can be and find it really hard to do what others want.

I would start several religions with very similar beliefs then, make parts of the doctrine very ambiguous, leaving open for all sorts of interpretation.
Then I would divide the cultures with race, and stir in some Zeal and fundamentalism.
This would have them fighting for thousands of years of small differences of opinion, then occasionally I would convince one group they are better then all the rest and were 100% right.
I would put one or 2 of these zealots in political positions of power and have the try and wipe out the other groups.
But I don't have to imagine this we are living in it right now.
The only thing that is truly evil is fascism and a lack of acceptance.
Western theology gives us all that wrapped up in a nice little package with the promise of salvation.

I would do pretty much what we have already done, convince people into beleiving money and possessions are the most valuable things you can own as opposed to strength of character, self beleif and motivation. Market drugs, cigarettes and alcohol fervently wherever possible. Vilify and commoditise sex. I could go on but I think you probably get the gist, I think sometimes mankind create our own worst nightmares and suffering, do we really need the devil to do that for us?

Talk them into voting for George Bush and Dick Cheny and turn that whole bunch loose on the world. Nothing better than watching people at each others throats, and I especially like the others far away who think its justifiable and say their God is on their side.
Sooner or later, I will deal with all of them, imagine their surprise when their Rapture turns to out to be a large scale hot foot!

i would think an anti-christ would not make anyone suffer. just the opposite, it would instead trick them into thinking they were doing what is right and enjoying themselves.
whatever else---make people believe they need the anti-christ to be happy and make other people jealous of those under it's spell.

I'd simply promote Christian morality - keep on dividing people against themselves by perpetuating guilt and hatred about homosexuality, masturbation and desire generally. The Antichrist isn't actually necessary to create suffering, religion does it just fine as it is.
