Actually, it's my sister's ex-husband. LIES about everything. Said he had straight As through college, more like C-s. Worked for himself, in which he was a lazy employee, and even lazier boss. Didn't pay any bills, gambled whatever money he had. Didn't help raise his kids. Just went fishing all day etc. Marriage is a crock, and divorce is even worse. Why do ppl act like this? Why do they think bullsh*tting themselves and other people a good idea?

15 answers already. The guy is a con artist. He is a charmer, a guy who says what you want to hear, and a real personable guy, but that is his cover so you don't expect him to be a scumbag.

I am a male and I never want to do that to my wife and I make the marriage last and worth because I want to be the best husband and best father to my family. I know what it like when my family like that. I will never lie to her, or say I am. If that was true about me and I won't be married to anyone.
But I married to my wife for 9 years and I work very hard for her to comeback to my life and I am very hard working husband, and father. and Pissed me off some guy like that made me look like a fool.
If my sister married that kind of dude like that I am going to beat the crap out of him and make sure he get paid for what he has been doing.

I wonder if this is my husband you are talking about.. Tell your sister I am sorry for her. We cant make everyone perfect in our lives. There are all kinds out there and it's hard to weed out the liars, cheaters, stealers, boozers, loozers you name it. No one is going to come up to you and say Hi my name is Joe and I'm a total ******. I have been jacking people around my whole life and if you want you can be next on my long list of hurt and confused people. Life does not work that way. Just continue to be a good person and really be careful with who you let into your life. I am talking from experience.

Because he has a low self esteem problem and has to taken it out by being a control freak-liar. Since you all already know his past, I suggest moving on and let it go ;) No reason to get all bent out of shape over a loser like him :) Life is too short to let him get to you.
But most guys who act like that are not happy with themselves and live a life of lies rather than face the truth :)

It's probably good that this man is your sister's EX husband then. Not all men are like this. True, it is hard to find a good man these days. Some men just get off on being a complete jerk. They probably came from a broken home.

marriage is only a crock with losers like that, sorry your sister had such a bad time with it, but it sounds like the guy probably had those same "habits" before marriage...if the guy is an a s s while you are dating...he's always gonna be an a s s...they don't change, she needs to raise her standards a bit and look for someone that actually wants a relationship, and not just a screw buddy and housekeeper

Doesn't sound like you want an answer...you have already answered it...he is a lazy, self-obsessed person given to exageration...this is not a club with a limited membership, that's for sure. Do they think you believe them??? Yes, they do. Ain't that a hoot?

My question would be - why do people put up with this kind of thing? Charmer or not, if you're not smart enough to see through the lies and continue having kids with the guy, you probably get what you're asking for. People do and will act stupid, but for god's sake, don't marry them!
