I've got a total of 7 holes in my ears, the first set when I was 13. If you keep them clean, as your piercer will explain, and you are not allergic to the metal in the earrings, then you should have no problem.

The discomfort when they are pierced is about like you taking your fingernail and pinching your earlobe real hard, then letting go...it hurts for a brief moment, then tingles a little as it fades away. They might be a bit sore for a couple of days, but nothing bad and generally only when touched (which you should only do with clean hands, when cleaning them).

It's truly not that bad at all...I used to pierce children's ears (not tiny babies but 7 or 8 yrs and older) and other than an OUCH! when the earring was put in, that's about the worst reaction any of them had.

Enjoy!

It will feel like a pinch when you get it done. Other than that you won't really feel pain as long as you keep them cleaned and take good care of them. Here are the caring instructions for you:

Studex After Ear Piercing Instructions
1)-Cleanse the ear lobes front and back once or twice a day
with Studex/Bagatelle/MediSept anti-septic (do not remove studs)
2)-At least twice a day apply the above anti-septic to the pierced
hole and slide the studs back and forth in the ear to work the
solution into the hole. Turn the studs (like winding a watch)
several times a day.
3)-When shampooing, be sure that the soap is completely rinsed
from the ear lobes. Cover ear lobes when using spray cologne,
hair spray or hair dye. Keep the hair away from ear lobes when
ever possible during the healing process.
4)-Leave training studs in for 4 to 6 weeks. For the first 6 months do
not go any longer than 24 hours without wearing earrings, otherwise
the hole could begin to close. This will assure the newly pierced hole
will be formed properly. If after the four week healing time the ear
feels sore when changing earrings, go back to the training studs and
continue these instructions for a additional one or two weeks.
5)-After the 4 to 6 week training period, other earrings may be worn.
These should be made of gold, surgical Stainless Steel or Sterling Silver
no heavy earrings should be worn for at least 4 months after the
training period.
6)-Pain, redness or swelling is not a normal result of ear piercing
This condition could indicate an allergic reaction to gold or that your
body cannot tolerate a foreign object in the skin. Should this condition
occur, remove earrings immediately and see your doctor at once.

I hurts for only a few seconds. I'm 15 and I got my ears pierced when I was 4. I strangely remember it though. But it doesn't hurt badly at all. And to prevent infection, they give you a cleaning solution to put on your ears. Also, you shouldn't share earrings with other people. You also have to keep the earrings in after you first get them pierced for about 3 months or the hole will close up.

As is with any open wound, ear piercings can become infected. The holes need to be cleaned with alcohol or peroxide at least a couple of times a day. As I recall (it's been a few years), it took about three weeks for the holes to heal completely. The pain involved is minor, and not really a factor. Keep your ear ring in, though, or the hole will close. Get a gold post. Other metals can cause allergic reactions.

Its annoyance at the most. Depending on your pain tolerance and where you pierce the actual pierce wont hurt too much at all. If you follow their instructions on keeping it clean you shouldn't have too much trouble with infections. I got an industrial barbell through two parts of the top of my ear. Through that much flesh and cartilage it took a good 6 months to heal completely but about a month before it wasn't an annoyance. It got a little infected repeatedly from accidentally sleeping on it and such but ended up healing nicely and now never has any problems.

Doesn't hurt a bit. Had mine double pierced with a piercing gun on the same day in both ears and had no problems. Even after a week and started modeling different earrings. Just be careful and don't touch unless you have washed your hands before. Be sure to leave the piercing studs in for a least 5-6 weeks and use alcohol to clean and disinfect them.

It pinches. The pain goes away quickly. Get them professionally done if you decide to have your ears pierced. Afterwards, your ears are wounded and you need to take care of them a few times a day to prevent them from getting infected. Clean them three times a day with saline solution. The earrings also need to be turned every so often as well. But be careful not to touch your ears with dirty hands. Always wash your hands before you turn and clean your ear piercings and try not to play with them much during the day.

If your ear lobes become red, swollen or really itchy, go see your doctor.

Some people have problems with infection & some don't. I got my ears pierced the first time at 10 w/no problems. The second set I can't wear ear rings because they close up & I have to reopen & they stay infected. I also got a naval ring & I did everything they told me to & it stayed infected so I took it out.

It's like a little pinch. It hurts worse to some and not at all to others.
Anything can get infected you just have to make sure and follow the after care instructions and always wash your hands before you touch your ears.

A small amount of pain, depends on how you handle pain. I've had mine pierced 4 times on each ear, then my nose...years ago.

But I've pierced my own ears and it didn't hurt to me.

You need to make sure you clean them how and when they tell you to, with the cleaning solution you get when you get pierced.

Don't touch them alot cuz they will get infected, germs and all that.

REally it's worth it and once they heal you can change them.

:)
