Doesn't this describe perfectly what Israel is doing in Lebanon? This is wikipedia's definition of terrorism.

Terrorism refers to a strategy of using violence, or threat of violence targetted against innocents or non-combatants to generate fear, cause disruption, and ultimately, to bring about compliance with specific political, religious, ideological, and personal demands. The audience to be affected by terrorist attacks typically are not the individuals who are killed, injured, or taken hostage, but rather the societies to which these individuals belong. Terrorism is a type of unconventional warfare designed to weaken or supplant existing political landscapes through capitulation or acquiescence, as opposed to subversion or direct military action. The broader influence of terrorism in the modern world is often attributed to the dramatic focus of mass media in amplifying feelings of intense fear and anger.

My answer is an enphatic YES.

And to all those who say that Israel has the right to defend itself and that it wasn't gonna do any of what it is doing now if Hezbullah hadn't snatched two of its soldiers -- To these "superficial" people I say:
- Don't you know that Israel is still occupying part of the Lebanese land (called "Shebaa Farms") and still captivating (and of course torturing) about 10,000 Arab prisoners without any trials?
- How come you all think that if someone is struggling and using force to take his land back from an occupier then he is a terrorist?! Were the British and the French terrorists when they were struggling against Hitler and the German occupation of England and France?!! And what about the "founding fathers" of the USA who launched military actions against the British occupiers?!! Why do you insist on using these dreadful double standards? Don't you know that the feelings of hatred created in the hearts of the Arabs and Muslims due to these double standards were among the main reasons behind the savage 9/11 attacks?

I am sure none will carefully read or respect what I have just said because I dared talk about the mighty Israel. But I said it, and that's the point to me.

No. If Hezbollah or Hamas decides to shoot guns and rockets and then run behind civilians, they are directly causing the harm of those civilians. Also, in your wikipedia definition, it says terrorism is " a type of inconventional warfare designed to weaken or supplan existing political lanscapes through capituation or acquiescence, as opposed to subversion or direct military action." Israel is using direct military action.

definite, thats the common American answer. Kill some million human beings. Nuclear guns are for deterrent against attack, no longer for use. What do you imagine ought to take position after a nuclear holocaust contained in the area? Why do you want to overthrow al Assad besides? do you want an Islamist team to take over from a mundane authorities? And now Turkey is being less than attack for helping the insurgents in Syria. I dont imagine the Arabs settle for Israel going round and centred on their leaders and blaming the killings on Iran Who the eff cares about one little us of a of Israel. the different international places are extra significant. you'd be paying $10 a gallon for gas without oil from the middle east. Then the U.S. can might want to overthrow the Venezuelan authorities to get oil from them. issues dont artwork out like the films with brute rigidity, then no repercussions. the form of genocide could have consequences for years yet to go back. attempt to imagine like a man or woman, compared to an American nitwit.

I have been trying to point this out all week, without fear of being branded Nazi, anti-American, Jew hater plus more. The Israelis are criminals against humanity. I will no longer have any feelings of guilt over what was done 1939-45, because they have shown categorically that they are prepared to act in the very same way.

No Israeli's are not terrorists! They were forced into the current conflict by the actions of Hezbollah terrorists who were welcomed in Lebanon with open arms, making Lebanon guilty of association. Israel is reacting to the injustices brought upon them by Lebanese, just as we are in Iraq and Afghanistan... whether or not you agree with our war in the middle east we are NOT terrorists and neither are they.

I think that something that people fail to mention is that first of all Israel was attacked on their own soil by a foreign force. Secondly that the Hezbollah "fighters" are hiding in residential neighborhoods to launch attacks at Israeli cities. This would suggest to me that it is Hezbollah and not Israel who are the terrorists.
