I don't eat fruits or veggies. I know that they would aid in this, but I just don't eat them. I eat mostly baked meats (chicken, pork, lean beef, and turkey), whole grain wheat bread and I drink 8-12 cups of water daily. I like Golden Graham cereal w/o milk. I drink orange juice and grape juice (100% fruit juice). I eat a plain ice cream cone or one chocolate chip cookie once or twice a week. Any suggestions? Fiber supplements? Cleansing? HELP!!! I am trying to lose weight through exercise and being more conscious of what I eat but my stomach often feels hard, bubbly, and swollen. I know that my diet is whack but it's worked for me in the past. I am in my mid thirties and have no medical problems that I know of. My measurements are 36-33-46. I'm not obese but I am overweight. I just want to be able to eat, digest and get rid of the foods I consume normally. I fear becoming dependent on laxatives so I use them very sparingly.

You don't eat fruits and veggies, but do you eat beans and nuts? Both are decent sources of fiber. You should drink some Benefiber powder with your foods...It's tasteless and colorless and will help. Also try adding some digestive enzyme supplements to your regimen. PEACE!

Try to work in some fruits and vegetables anyway- do you like carrots? Tomatoes? Bananas? These are all a good source of fiber and should help with your digestion.

Your juice selections are o.k. But,I would "ditch"the grape juice- it's more sugar than anything else. Drinking water is good- it's good for your kidneys and bladder as well as your overall health.

You may want to buy some fiber tablets like Benefiber. This will help, too (they help me). You may not need laxatives if you use these.

You may also want to talk over your situation with your family doctor. He/she may be able to give you more information about how to solve your problem.

It's extremely unhealthful NOT to have fruits or vegetables in your diet; this is a cause for many complications, especially so in the gastro-intestinal tract! You MUST start eating fruits more often, especially if you want to continue being healthy into your later years.

However, in the meantime, try lowering your meat intake and increaing your whole grain intake. Try to go for a jog for about half an hour once per day. Try some basic crunches for about half an hour twice a day, 3 reps, 24 sets should do; this should drastically begin to lower the amount of fat held in your abdominal region and around your waist. If you are unfamiliar with crunches, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/crunches. You should see startling results fairly quickly.

I wish you the best of luck!

Fiber! Supplements, but eating fruits and veggies are best. Also lay off greasy foods and foods with high fat content. You could have IBS, so laying off fatty foods would help either way.

It sounds to me like you have irritable bowel syndrome. I really think you should see your doctor about this. Its really not anything to mess with. It is really simple, go see the doctor, he will do a few tests, then you know for certain what is going on. I would feel better knowing I checked with a doctor about this. I hope it works out for you.
