How to make a HTTP Server?

I want to know how to make a HTTP server on my computer. I have installed Apache and PHP but it still does not work. Can anyone tell me the programs I need and where I can get them from?

I only need PHP on it but I dont know if I require MySQL or PHPMyAdmin. Please help!

Nanoweb is a webserver programmed in php so u will have php already from the strat after installing NanoWeb...
