well a lot of time Tool will not play a song live, but that has more to do with them being lazy I guess? =P. I doubt Buckethead could do some of his songs live. Primus surprisingly does most of their songs live, and does insane covers of songs like "Master Of Puppets" which tear the original to threads (Les slaps and thumb strikes the entire song, because he's an animal) The Mars Volta I believe doesn't do all it's songs live, but that's just a guess

You will usually hear a watered down version that usually does not compare to the recording.
I know Elton John will not perform the version of Candle in the Wind written for Princess Diana.
