Okay... to clear up your skin the most significant thing that will noticiably clear your skin naturally is don't drink any pop (soda or whatever your area calls it). The Carbon Dioxide will be trapped in your pores and create pimples. Not eating greasy foods helps too, it causes oil on your skin. Lastly try to keep yourself calm, hormones and stress cause acne too.
For smaller pores, try using a thin application of Hydrogen Peroxide to your pores, it will dry them out and shrink them. Some toothpastes also have Hydrogen Peroxide, so you could smear a little toothpaste on your face before bed (just dont forget to wash it off in the morning, i've done that before)

Dry and/or greasy skin due to poor oil composition of the skin. Thick greasy oils clog pores, lack of oil leads to dryness and irritation. You need thin oils to moisturize while dissolving and clearing gunk in your poors. Try fish oil or seafood. 2 tsp fish oil a day or 4 servings of seafood a week. Stick it out for at least 2 months; it will take a long time to replace all your oil. Any effect after 1-2 days is temporary or random; so even if it makes you break out a little at first, you haven't given it a full try yet.
In the short term you can wash and moisturize well, but that will only go so far. Plus excessive washing can be drying and excessive moisturizing can be clogging. Use a small amount of a light moisturizer, made with oil not jelly or grease. Often that means soybean oil or mineral oil. Mineral oil means mined from the ground. So soybean oil is usually better, though mineral oil won't cause too much harm. Clean with soap and water, not a harsh acne cleanser. Even then they only work so well. So you really need the seafood.
Antibiotics aren't really good for bacteria long term, they'll come back in force after. Short term they may help. After you get off them find some kefir with acidophilus listed first or 2nd to replace the friendly bacteria they destroyed. Studies show less illness when you have these bacteria, even outside the stomach in places such as the lungs and elsewhere. You want friendly bacteria to fill the void when the antibiotics stop, not harmful ones.
In the short term you might also try 100,000+ iu retinol vitamin A (a megadose, and too much for normal use) or one of the acne drugs that is similar to retinol vitamin A. It's some minor harm to your organs, but it helps against bacteria on your skin. At least it doesn't have the other long term drawbacks to your skin that antibiotics and many scrubs do.
If you would like to learn how to treat your acne permanently and regain your health and wellbeing, without drugs, without typical acne treatments, and without any side effects, then this will be the most important letter you will ever read.

Unfortunately, it can be difficult to get rid of acne and large pores - it is often due to inherited genes or hormone inbalance.
But there is a lot you can do to help!!
Your doc can prescribe tablets to help clear up the acne - I know you say that you don't want this, but it works for most people and doesn't have too many side effects. Then you can keep looking after your skin so you don't need the medication again.
Biggest tip is - keep your skin very CLEAN. Invest in a good, soapless cleanser, and clean your skin gently twice a day. Then apply a light, non-greasy moisturiser with a sun factor of 15, which will protect your skin from sun damage. Some sun is good for acne, but not too much.
Other tips - drink lots of fresh water - warm if you an stand it, about 8 glasses a day plus. This keeps your insides clean and shows on the outside!!
Avoid greasy food (like fry ups) and eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables.
Lots of fresh air and exercise.
The pores will improve too with all of this - and add a toner, just on the enlarged pores. This will tighten them a bit. Almost impossible to get rid completely, but a good face mask once a week and the toner applied every day will help.
Be careful with hydrogen peroxide (which someone recommended) it is bleach - use diluted and sparingly if at all.
Forgot to mention exfoliation - that helps too.
Experiment - everyone's skin is different.
Hope this helps!!

I have very oily skin, which is acne prone. My secret to glowing skin is...water. When I drink 8-10 glasses a day, my skin glows, my pores shrink and I have little or no acne. In addition, I wash my face every day with gentle soap (Dove) and I exfoliate a couple of times a week. I have found that I have to do all 3 things religiously or I do not have good results. Hopefully you find something that works for you! Good luck!

Unless you have poor hygiene, which I don't believe you do, you can't clear your skin naturally. I also wouldn't reccomend over the counter products, because they're about hygiene. Most skin conditions are as a result of hormonal activity, vitamin, or mineral deficiency. Even if your overweight, you can be malnourished, if you don't eat a well balanced diet. 1st adjust your diet, if you have a well balanced diet, have a dermatologist test your hormones and put you on hormone therapy. It can be expensive, but it will definitely work. If you're lucky, your body might even kick in and adjust its hormone production. I used hormone therapy for a few months and went off for a few months over a two year period. I have clear skin now. Once your pores are enlarged, if you've been squeezing pimples, you can't shrink them.

Try fasting. Acne is caused by toxins and fasting is a great way to let the body get rid of them. A one day juice fast once a week cleared up my acne completely.
Anything else I ever tried did nothing, including Pro-active. With fasting you would not be spending money!
Good luck!

The best thing you can do is exfoliate regularily to remove dead skin cells. This is the number one thing leading to pimples. I used to use a baking soda paste for exfoliation, and follow it up with hydrogen peroxide on a cotton round. The peroxide disolves oil and does not dry the skin out. I used this for years after trying EVERYTHING else. (then I found Proactiv.) I don't know how to shrink pores, though.

I had the same question a few years ago when I was having issues with my acne. Use Clean & Clear, it works and it's good smelling. They have all kinds of things you can use and I personally use all of it just because it does work. I've been with clear skin for well over 2 yrs now because of Clean & Clear.

I know where you're coming from, and to be honest the only thing that helped me was a drug called Accutane. Your dermatologist can prescribe it to you, it works-trust me. I had terrible acne and there isn't anything left. I know you don't want to use medication, but that's the truth. Another thing you can do is drink plenty of fluids (especially water), and believe it or not but as many carrots as possible (I wouldn't make this up). Carrots have the same vitamins that make Accutane work. Avoid too much sunlight, have plenty of exercise and avoid greasy and oily food. I tried proactive and it worked for me...kinda, but not really. Good luck to you, I know where you're coming from.

don't know how make your pores smaller, but i use lye soap on my face with a medicated moisturizer. i used proactiv for a long time and then it quit working. then i tried clinique face line and that just made things worse. next, i tried arbonne's acne treatment...still no improvement. my aunt and uncle sent me a bar of lye soap (which lasts forever, i might add) and it's made more improvement in my face than any of that other stuff in the past year! it sounds like it'd be harsh soap, but it's really not. you can find online vendors by searching google.com or other search engines. i might add another answer later if i can find the website my aunt and uncle used to get theirs. hope this helps!

Basically you just have to make sure you keep your skin clean. Try using masks and make sure to exfoliate at least twice a week. You can get stuff that will minimize the appearence of pores but you can't make them smaller.
