My truck is a collecters item. A 1977 dodge with a 360 with 65000 miles on it and the transmission is bad. I only want 1600 for it and noone will even look at it. This after they learn that I am homeless and would be able to move to the city and get a job if I could only sell the truck.

You simply haven't found the right buyer. Try collector's website listings. Also try craigslist to post a free listing in many cities...for free.

Occasionally there are news articles having to do with buying and selling cars/trucks. It's a frequent topic about the frustrations of selling a vehicle. A critical ingredient is how the truck is priced....and how the asking price reflects the true market value of the truck, or if it's on the high side because you also factor in your emotional feeling for it. In other words, you may feel that its a great truck and worthy of a $2000 value (for example). But a buyer doesn't know that and he has to look at it differently. You need to adjust your price to what the produce will sell for. The open market may only see the truck at around $1800. As you continue to hold on to the truck, you continue to pay licensing fees and there's a risk that something that will go wrong that needs fixing. No one ever gets what they want from the sale of a vehicle. As hard as it is, you probably have to adjust the price downwards.....or advertize to reach a larger reading audience than you are now.

The reason you can't sell the truck is because nobody wants to buy it.

The other reason is because you really don't want to sell it.

You are attached to that truck. You have personified it and it has become a part of you.

Nobody wants to take you away from yourself.

Have yoy looked into local car shows. There are always people looking to pick up older cars. Check the internet or community activities in your local newspaper.
