Sometimes when you get into water your cycle will momentarily stop, however this is not always the case, so you may have to sit this one out. Also you may want to read the directions about the tampoon because you may be putting it in incorrectly. When I tried tampoon's at first and it hurt really bad and finally, I realized that I was doing it wrong. One thing about it, if it is right you shouldn't feel it! Good Luck and God Bless.

I had the same problem until I was almost 21 years old! If you can, see a Gynecologist. They will teach you how to stretch the vaginal opening, making it easier to use tampons. Start out using the slim tampons, and use some lubricant. It might help to stand up, with one leg resting on a foot stool or the toilet. Relax! If you tense your muscles, it makes it a lot harder to get the tampon inside. Be sure to follow the directions, and if you need to, you can have your Gynecologist show you how to do it correctly. Good luck!

Try the junior or lite tampons by tampax or the slim tampons by playtex. I had the same problem for years and have now worked my way up to regular tampons by playtex. I still can't do regular tampons by tampax. My mother always assured that once I was sexually active it would all change but 15 years later she still isn't right. :) Some people are just smaller than others. Try a few different products and I'll bet you'll find a tampon that works for you.

the 7th answer above me,that guy sounds like an idiot!! dont listen to him...well if your not on your period then just wear a pad or pantiliner but if you are on your period..then ask your mom or another female thats older and has worn one or go to www.google.com and type in a guide to your first tampon and it should come up with guides on how to use a tampon. Hope this answer helped, and good luck!!!

maybe you should read the instructions and learn to put it in properly, but if that doesnt work, just but some toliet paper near there. when your body hit the cold water it slows the bleeding down, so you'll be ok in the water but when u get out make sure you go and put a pad on just in case.

If it hurts, you probably didn't put it in correctly. Try a slim tampon and use lube if you have to. So give it another try, or just don't swim
