What is your question then? Are you afraid that she is pregnant? Let's hope she's not. If she said that she is supposed to have her period yesterday and you had sex with her 3 days ago, used a condom, then chances are that she's not.
Majority of women are most fertile for 24 hours after they ovulate and it is true that women usually ovulate 14 days after their periods but that's just an average. If your girlfriend is expecting her menstrual period yesterday it is evidently expressed that her ovulation period ended 14 days ago, based on a 28-day cycle.
Ovulation is the process in the menstrual cycle by which a mature ovarian follicle ruptures and discharges an ovum (also known as the egg) that participates in reproduction. In the pre-ovulatory phase of the menstrual cycle, the ovarian follicle will undergo a series of transformations. After this is done, the egg will leave the follicle. During the post-ovulatory phase, the egg will travel through the fallopian tubes toward the uterus, implanting there 6-12 days later (if fertilized) or degrading in the fallopian tubes within 24 hours if not fertilized.
The few days near ovulation constitute the fertile phase. The average time of ovulation is the fourteenth day of an average length menstrual cycle (which is 28 day-cycle). It is normal and common for the day of ovulation to vary from the average. However, cycle length alone is not a reliable indicator of the day of ovulation. While in general an earlier ovulation will result in a shorter menstrual cycle, and vice versa, the post-ovulatory phase of the menstrual cycle may vary by up to a week between women.

I would give it a few more days. It is noraml to be off schedule every once in awhile. If you two are that worried you can always go buy a test. The cost like $6 at Wal-mart for the store brand and work just as good.

It's probably stress. If you used a condom and it was only 3 days before she was supposed to get her period, it's highly unlikely she got pregnant. She would've ovulated a week ago at least.

Give it a few more days periods can be late for more reasons than just pregnancy. If she is two-to three weeks late then test for pregnancy.
