When I first saw my daughter I was shocked that she was born with two teeth! Now 15 months later she still has those teeth and they are very yellow and much smaller then the rest of her teeth. Anyone have any suggestions?

What Should I Do if My Baby Was Born with Teeth?

Some infants are born with one or more teeth (called natal teeth) or may have teeth emerge within the first 30 days of life (called neonatal teeth).

These usually are either extra teeth or are remnants from neonatal development that do not need treatment. If they are, however, actual teeth, it's a good idea to maintain them. Your doctor, however, may recommend removing them if the teeth are loose and pose a danger of being inhaled by your baby. Early teeth may also interfere with feeding or irritate your baby's tongue.

Those are called pre-teeth, and most of the time the teeth are pulled. Sometomes there are baby teeth waiting to come up, sometimes you have to wait until the permanent teeth come in. If she's 15 months old and they haven't pulled them yet then maybe she gets to keep hers. As long as they are functional and arent bothering her then it should be fine until the permanent teeth come in. The fact they are yellow is not at all your fault, and is not from the bottle. Since these teeth are not normal baby teeth, they are not as good. Nothing to worry about though.

They are baby teeth and will fall out when her adult teeth grow in, just as usual.

Until then just keep them brushed and clean.

Formula can stain teeth if they arent cared for, as can other foods, especially apple juice. My brother lost baby teeth to apple juice, it stripped off all the enamal.

Talk to your pediatrition and find out if she needs to see a dentist. The last thing you want is a baby with impacted or infected teeth. And it could save you a huge dentist bill in the future.

Don't worry, my son was born with teeth as well. They will fall out naturally. Just brush them.

I would take her to the dentist. Its normal for babies to be born with teeth but its very rare. Clean her teeth wit hthe orajel tooth and gum cleanser and get her to see a dentist soon.

They are called milk teeth and usually do fall out. She will still get baby teeth and then permanent teeth.
