Hitler a jew? Went through that discussion in college. Lots of folks would like to claim it but no real proof exists. Not for at least 6 generations back.

And no one in germany can claim that they don't have some jew blood in them. At some point in time all races have common ancestors.

Because Hitler was actually a bastard, no one truly knows his lineage. There is speculation that he had Jewish blood, but unless I am mistaken, for some one to be considered a Jew, doesn't their mother have to be? Hitlers mommy, by most accounts, was Catholic.

I really don't think Hitler was a jew.

Do you have anything to back up your statement regarding Hitler being Jewish, or are you only parroting misinformation?

And,....if Hitler wanted to exterminate Jews, how do you explain this:

Hitler was a Jew? Since when? I didn't know that!

But I'm sure he still wanted to "sterminate" all of them.
Why don't you "splain it" to me, Lucy?

Hitler, although he was brought up and confirmed as a Catholic, had abandoned Christianity by the time he was in control of Germany

One of the most frequently asked questions we receive is whether Adolf Hitler was Jewish or had ancestors who were. The idea seems to arise from the remote possibility that Hitler's grandfather was Jewish. Hitler's father, Alois, was registered as an illegitimate child with no father. Alois' mother worked in the home of a wealthy Jew and there is some chance a son in that household got the woman (i.e., Hitler's grandmother) pregnant. Adolf Hitler was not Jewish.
_________
The people of Israel (also called the "Jewish People") trace their origin to Abraham, who established the belief that there is only one God, the creator of the universe (see Old Testament). Abraham, his son Yitshak (Isaac), and grandson Jacob (Israel), are referred to as the patriarchs of the Israelites. All three patriarchs lived in the Land of Canaan, that later came to be known as the Land of Israel. They and their wives are buried in the Ma'arat HaMachpela, the Tomb of the Patriarchs, in Hebron.

The name Israel derives from the name given to Jacob (see Old Testament). His 12 sons were the kernels of 12 tribes that later developed into the Jewish nation. The name Jew derives from Yehuda (Judah) one of the 12 sons of Jacob. So, the names Israel, Israeli or Jewish refer to people of the same origin.

The descendants of Abraham crystallized into a nation at about 1300 BCE after their Exodus from Egypt under the leadership of Moses (Moshe in Hebrew). Soon after the Exodus, Moses transmitted to the people of this new emerging nation, the Torah, and the Ten Commandments. After 40 years in the Sinai desert, Moses led them to the Land of Israel, that is cited in The Bible as the land promised by G-d to the descendants of the patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

The people of modern day Israel share the same language and culture shaped by the Jewish heritage and religion passed through generations starting with the founding father Abraham (ca. 1800 BCE). Thus, Jews have had continuous presence in the land of Israel for the past 3,300 years.

The rule of Israelites in the land of Israel starts with the conquests of Joshua (ca. 1250 BCE). The period from 1000-587 BCE is known as the "Period of the Kings". The most noteworthy kings were King David (1010-970 BCE), who made Jerusalem the Capital of Israel, and his son Solomon (Shlomo, 970-931 BCE), who built the first Temple in Jerusalem as prescribed in the Tanach (Old Testament).

In 587 BCE, Babylonian Nebuchadnezzar's army captured Jerusalem, destroyed the Temple, and exiled the Jews to Babylon (modern day Iraq).

The year 587 BCE marks a turning point in the history of the region. From this year onwards, the region was ruled or controlled by a succession of superpower empires of the time in the following order: Babylonian, Persian, Greek Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine Empires, Islamic and Christian crusaders, Ottoman Empire, and the British Empire.
__________

Also, dude, the temple was destroyed that had all records of Judaism in it. You know, who married whom and what their religion was and how many kids they had, etc. Without those records, whose to claim anyone is really Jewish?

Dear One God,

First of all, as some have mentioned before, even if you have "Jewish
blood" (whatever that means, Jews have the same blood as the rest of
us...), that doesn't make a Jew.

However, Hitler had no verifiable ancestor that was Jewish. The
Holocaust History site states:
" Few, if any, of the reputable historians on the Holocaust believe
that this is so. It is more likely that Hitler tried to keep the murky
history of his family quite secret because there was a high incidence
of insanity and feeble-mindedness in his ancestors."
(SOURCE: The HOlocaust History Page,
).

The also recommend the first chapter of the following book, that
disproves this rumour through research:
Werner Maser, _Hitler: Legend, Myth & Reality_.

I hope this answers your question. Please contact me if you need any
clarification on this answer before you rate it. My search term:

The best answer that I've found is that Hitler *probably* had no
Jewish ancestors. The uncertainty arises from the fact that his
grandfather, Alois, was registered as an illegitimate child. Alois'
mother worked for a wealthy Jewish family and there is some
speculation that she had an affair with a member of that family.
However, most sources I've seen regard this as very unlikely.

Hope this helps.

We all have Jewish ancestors. Just unverifiable.

I'm not Jewish so excuse the ignorance but...

Don't Jews believe in the Old Testament?
Doesn't the Old Testament say we all came from Adam?

By definition does this not make us all Jewish? (Practicing Jew or not!)

Sort of. To be Jewish your mother must have been Jewish.

hi there canadian ...

true enough, as far as it goes. And scubajim is right, judaism is
traditionally passed down via the mother, not the father -- but then
we're all descendents of eve, so... the real answer is that adam & eve
weren't 'jewish,' as such -- jews a distinct
people/nation/religion/what-have-you only come in with abraham, about
a dozen chapters later in genesis. abe and sarah, his wife are the
first jews.

note that means that there are people out there - adam, eve, noah,
etc. - who have a personal relationship with god -- good enough to
chat with him! -- even though they're not jewish. that didn't stop
with abraham. non-jews have a relationship with god, too, according to
judaism!

hope this sheds light,
roger
