I presume you know the difference between 'salary' and 'wages' and 'remuneration? In American? In real life?

it really depends on where you are living in the US if a salary is considered good or not...It is much less expensive to live in some areas/states than others therefore this is a hard question to answer. I would say research into the area in which you want to move on what the cost of living is and make a budget up based on what you find out. Then you will have a good idea of the minimum you would have to make living there to be comfortable. Good luck!

If you are on salary then it is based on the job. Minimum wage depends on what state you are in but I do believe that minimum wage is around $5.15 to $5.25 an hour.

The salary/remuneration for a particular job is the market value for a particular profession and designation at the city/town where the office is located. Job postings at websites like Monster, Yahoo HotJobs and Careerbuilder carry information about salaries. The Govt Dept of Labor, (www.bls.gov) Bureau of statistics has information about median salaries for different professions and details of additional compensation offered. Other online resources are salary.com and payscale. Your salary will also depend on your educational qualification and how you handle your career.
